Vehicle Detail
This is a relisting of this rare and well cared for Volvo 1800ES (bogus bidder so watch out!). I am the second owner as the car was purchased in Kentucky. Always garaged along with several other collector cars. Requests have been made to feature the car's photos with the International Volvo Association. The car has been very gently driven since a complete frame on restoration. Everything in the engine was rebuilt (engine was removed to a bench where every part was inspected and replaced with original components). I had everything from shocks to brakes replaced with new Volvo parts. The full cosmetic and mechanical restoration was done in 2007 and it has about 6,000 miles driven since. It is fully sorted was inspected by a high end restoration shop. No mechanical issues were identified. So this Lil Vo is ready to go!!! The car has had an exceptional repaint in its original color of Teal. The paint and other codes are shown in the photos. Weather stripping has been replaced so it runs very quietly. All of the glass is in great shape. It has new tires all around. All of the bright work is original to the car and still in vey good condition. The bumpers have never been rechromed, they show some slight hazing but no pitting or deterioration. The trunk carries the factory jacking equipment and tool kit, the original tire, and spare wheel. Carpeting is original and in fantastic condition. Important to some, the radio is original AM/FM and works terrific. The rear speakers and grills are in perfect original condition. Headliner is also in perfect condition. And, the clock keeps perfect time!! All electrical items are working correctly in this car - horn, wipers, signals, lights, rear defogger, etc. - there ae no mystery electrical issues to chase down. This is an AC equipped car that was reconditioned and blows very cold. The heater and defroster work excellent. The car drives and rides very smooth holding at 70 mph effortlessly. The car runs cool, brakes well, handles great (complete suspension rebuild at restoration with support springs added to the rear shocks), and has plenty of power on tap. This is an Automatic transmission (original) that shifts smoothly and has a great overdrive for passing. The injectors were heat wrapped for smooth starts and cool power making freeway driving a breeze. Some cars look good and some cars drive good - this one does both. Complete set of original manuals and service guides along with collector books are packed with the car. NOTE: More photos are available upon request. About Payment: The winning bidder must contact me via email within 3 hours of auction completion. I would like a $1,000 deposit (paypal, money order or bank check) within 2 days. Balance is due (bank check or bank wire transfer only) within 7 calendar days of auction end. The car will remain securely garaged until pickup. About this auction: The car is sold as-is with no warranties express or implied. License plate is for illustrative purposes only and doesn't go with the vehicle. About me: Please check my feedback, I have bought and sold a number of collector cars and can help with shipping questions. I am not a dealer but an avid collector. The photos of this car were taken last week at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Thanks for looking and Happy Motoring!!!!
