This auction is for a 1996 BMW 328i four door, manual transmission. It is fully loaded with power windows, locks, seats, moon roof and even has the BMW winter package (heated seats, heated side mirrors and rear defrost). The car runs and drives strong and the tires are relatively new with about three thousand miles on them. The car has a Maine salvaged title due to a minor accident. The vehicle did not pass for its last inspection sticker because of rust on the rocker panels, so I parked the car in my driveway for the last year with the intention of repairing it. I have since decided to sell this vehicle rather then make the repairs. This BMW would be a great project car or would make a nice parts car. To give a little history, I have owned this vehicle for the last 10 years and it’s been a great car. I am very particular when it comes to the maintenance and repairs of my vehicles and this car has always been repaired using genuine BMW parts when available. I have always used Castrol GTX motor oil and replaced the oil and OEM ‘Mann’ oil filter every 3000 miles. This car was my daily driver until last year when it no longer passed inspection. I have done some simple cosmetic upgrades including changing out the regular headlights for glass projector angel eye headlights and clear side marker lights as well as the two front indicator lights. All the windows, doors, and moon roof work, with the exception of the driver side window, which needs to be put back on its track. (window can be moved by hand) The emergency brake does not function and the disk brakes sound a little rusty after having sat outside for a year but were functional last week when I took it for a drive. Under the hood, the rubber air intake elbow boot is cracked and will need to be replaced. As you can see from the photos, there is some rust at the bottom of the car including the doors, trunk and rocker panels. The A/C does not work but all the other heater and fan speed functions appear to be working fine. Please Note: The Sony radio head unit WILL NOT be sold with the car, I plan to take it for my other car. The speakers and the Kenwood Sirius/XM satellite tuner unit will stay in the car but are untested. The vehicle has a Maine salvage title due to a minor accident. The driver side fender was backed into by a plow truck while the car was parked damaging the fender. The insurance company intended on repairing the car until I submitted a repair quote that was higher than they expected ONLY because I was using all OEM replacement parts. The repair to the driver side fender and broken headlight mount were never made as you can see in the photos. I also included photos of a replacement fender and a trunk lid that will be included with the car. The parts are used but are in better shape than the ones that are on the car now.
