Vehicle Detail

1976 Pontiac Ventura that someone put a 403 Oldsmobile in it out a late 70's Trans Am. I've had the car for a few years thinking about making a rod or cruiser out of it and I just haven't done it. It came with a half-vinyl top and has some rust issues from the top - MOST of it is under the rear quarter window (picture). It is in an easy place to get to and fix in my opinion. Most on drivers side. Much less on passenger side.. Besides that, there really are no issues w/ the body. There is a small area near the rear bumper/drivers side. Other than that - the body and fenders, etc and undercarriage are very, very solid. It is white with red interior. Pretty sure that it has never seen paint. These cars originally came with a small 260 olds motor (V-8). Someone swapped that out for the 403. Unfortunately the 403 has a rod-knock. It is hard to hear when you start it - but it gets more noticeable when it is warmed up. It starts fine and can be driven up/down the driveway or onto a trailer. Brakes are fine and tranny (other than a pan leak) seems fine as well. It makes fine oil pressure. I was thinking about parting it out - but it has a host of decent parts and I think it would make a great muscle car cruiser or could be cloned to a Nova. Valuable parts: 403 olds out of a late 70's Trans Am - I'll try and post the motor number which is proof that it is a 403.Edelbrock 1905, 750 cfm carb - runs well and the car starts up fine with it.Edelbrock aluminum intake ( I think a performer). Olds intakeAccel, aftermarket HEI and wiresOlds headers.Pretty nice sidepipes that are in good shape with little rust, etc.Cragar rims with spinner caps - look great. Has BFG radial TA tires that are pretty old.Front subframe is correct for a 70's TA or Camaro - removed, they bring decent money.Pretty sure that the rear 10bolt rear will sway w/ a TA or Camaro as well. There are more pics/motor,etc at: http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/showthread.php?t=702627I think it deserves a shot at being saved and not parted out/crushed. Has a good SC title. I am glad to have people look at it or make offers. On Aug-20-12 at 19:26:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Last buyer did not come through - he had no feedback and if highest bid has no feedback, I reserve the right to cancel bids. Also, watch Ebay - they have already charged me a fee for that auction, even though I reported it as not payed. Car does run, but is a project and could be parted pretty easy. I think it'd make a great rod or drag car (what I bought it for). If buyer parts it - I call first dibs on the front subframe and carb! Thanks for looking.
