Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1971 Pontiac lemans. This car had the same owner for 25 years. The car has 214639 miles but everthing was replaced or rebuilt. The motor was rebuilt 80,000 miles ago. The engine has a Crane cam 246 grind smooth idle. Crane push rods and crane 1.5 ratio rockers. The engine was bored 30 over with trw pistons and rings. It has a Summit racing high pressure oil pump and a Summit HEI electronic distributor. It also has an aluminum radiator ,stainless steel flex fan , high output water pump and a new radiator shroud. I just installed new mity motor mounts and a brand new transmission crossmember. The front end is all moog parts. The front has moog heavy duty GTO springs and the rear has station wagon spring so the ride height is nice. I have all KYB shocks and a rear anti sway bar. The car also has a 2.78 posi rear, dual exhaust, high torque starter and a new brake booster. The car is in primer now. It needs some body work. It can use new rear quarters. The passenger side front fender was just changed and is rust free. The floor and trunk have very minor rust. The inside has no rug or headliner. I had the car since 1987 and drove it cross country in 1988 with no problems. This car would take you on a 1000 mile drive right now with no problems. All hoses and belts are like new. The car is being sold with a low reserve. I want someone to fix the body up and enjoy it. It runs and drives very nice. One small problem is the rear seal of the engine leaks alittle oil. This is common for the older Pontiacs because the engine uses a old type rope seal. They have new seals out there that dont leak. This is a great project car and a nice easy car to work on. The car is located in the Longisland New York area. It must be picked up here. Happy bidding.
