Vehicle Detail
2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLI VR6, 152,500 Miles You are bidding on a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLI VR6. The car features a 6-speed manual transmission, V-6 engine, power steering, antilock brakes, cruise control, A/C, reclinable front bucket seats, 60/40 split rear bench seat, cloth upholstery, power windows and power moonroof. Mechanically the car is in good shape. The front end – axles, struts, bearings, drums – are less than a year old. Brakes and antilock sensors are also new, as are the brand new (fog-free) headlights. The engine turns right over, the transmission shifts smoothly, turning is tight and responsive and the A/C blows very cold air. The car features a black exterior and black / grey interior with cloth seats. Now the bad news / flaws (we want to be thorough here): The exterior has two dents in the rear: one above the right rear taillight and another above that. (But the trunk does not leak.) The front bumper is misaligned on the passenger side. We had to rig a metal washer to the end of the hood release cable – the VW factory handle is plastic and is noted for breaking (which ours did – twice). All of these flaws are pictured, as are some of the spots / minor scratches on the finish. Exterior issues are consistent with the age / mileage of the vehicle. There is some tread left on the tires, but you’ll want to replace them before winter. The interior does have some issues: a couple of burn holes on the cloth seats, a black smudge on the front passenger seat (pictured) and a discolored headliner. The aftermarket radio (head unit) was poorly installed by the original owner (pictured) - and it’s broken, stuck in the “on” position. You can use it to play your mp3s with a 1/8” stereo jack adapter - the volume control works - but the CD and radio do not work. The speakers and interior wiring are fine – install your own head unit and you’ll be good to go. NJ bidders: The inspection is good until March 2014. Feel free to contact us with any questions, or to make an appointment to swing by and see the vehicle if you’re in the area. We accept PayPal. Thanks, and happy bidding!
