Vehicle Detail

1991 Mazda Miata British Racing Green Special Edition Up for auction is our 1991 Mazda Miata British Racing Green Special Edition. I bought this car a few years back and I used it to go back and forth to school in. Well, the years have passed and its time to pass this dependable car to a new owner. If your looking for an exceptional example, then I suggest you look elsewhere, but if your in the market for a Mazda Miata that is dependable and affordable and still looks decent this may be the car for you. Now given, it does have issues, the body isn't in mint condition by no means and the passenger side window needs fixing as well as the cruise control, which seems to fail on all the earlier model miatas. (cruise module) I have been the owner of several Mazda Miatas over the years and work on all my cars, as well as on the side. From turbocharged Miata's all the way to my 2002 Corvette. This car isn't a show piece and does have external flaws, but its a very reliable car. I will list below what I have done to it. New timing belt, timing belt pulleys, and water pump replaced 10,000 miles ago. Fresh tune up, spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. Replaced radiator, flushed and filled with fresh 50/50 anti-freeze mixture. Front main seal and cam seals replaced. Transmission and differential fluid replaced with Redline synthetic. 99-05 muffler installed. rebuilt clutch master and slave cylinder. Good Toyo Tires, plenty of tread left and they run smooth. Fresh brake fluid bled at all wheels. Rebuilt front calipers, new front rotors, new organic pads front and rear. Good top with clear window and tan convertible boot. Reupholstered seats and refinished dash (I took the dash out, stripped the peeling black vinyl. Primed and repainted! Looks like new! New suede shift lever and brake lever boots. Brand new Kenwood MP3 Cd player and Kenwood 3-way speakers. Nardi Torino Classic mahogony wood steering wheel, polished spokes, and nardi shift knob and lever. All in all, nearly 1,600 dollars invested in extra goodies. Like I said, it is reliable and it runs very good. I FORGOT TO POST THIS, BUT THIS CAR DOES HAVE A SIGNIFICANT UPGRADE! I INSTALLED 2004 MAZDA SPEED BILSTEIN SHOCKS, SPRINGS, AND SHOCK MOUNTS! The upgrade to 2nd generation suspension components significantly improves noise, vibration, and harshness by offering more suspension travel and much improved bumpstops. The car handles flatter and with much less brake dive, not to mention nearly an inch more travel in the rear suspension which was always a 1st gen miata's weakness in the rear suspension compartment. The set cost me 500 dollars used with 10,000 miles on them. But, talk about a nice upgrade! On Aug-13-12 at 15:59:18 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I have received several text and phone calls, this car has a reserve price of 2,500 and I am not in the business of giving things away. On the side note, I have sold several motorcycles and cars on ebay, so bid with confidence! Lastly, this is not a museum piece and I have clearly taken pictures to display the flaws. But it is worth well over reserve once you begin to look into the labor costof restoring a near 20 year old car into daily driver condition. I have owned several Miatas. 1 Mazdaspeed Miata, 2 10th Anniversary Miatas', a 93 limited edition, a 93 base, this 91 miata, a 97 m-edition, and a 95 m-edition. And I know what they all needed at 100,000 miles, (timing belt, waterpump, new clutch slave and master cylinder.) Add up the cost of labor and you'll see that if you decide on a 1,500 dollar miata, it is going to nickle and dime you upwards to whereas this car will not. It needs nothing, has excellent brakes, all fresh tuneup, hoses too, great tires (not wore out tires I am advertising as great), a decent top, and a new audio system. Like I said before, it does need the passenger side window fix, and I forgot to mention the key doesn't work too good with the door locks, but I have had this issue withother miatas too... On Aug-18-12 at 12:49:02 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE. To the people who are still calling me, I am not selling this car for 1,500 when its going for 2,500 dollars. For 1,500 dollars, you may find a 1st generation Miata shell for that amount.
