Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1987 Mercedes 300D. This is one of the cleanest and most mechanically sound 87 300D's you will find in the northern states. This car has seen very little snow in its entire life. I bought this from another diesel Mercedes Lover who purchased the car in Florida, where it spent most of its life up until the last few years. This classic Mercedes has been used as a daily driver for the last 12 months, while recieveing exceptional care and maintenance. In those 12 months I put about 14,000miles on it, and never had any major problems. I’m a big advocate of preventative maintenance, so any issues are always addressed before they become problems. It just went from here in Ohio to Indian Beach, North Carolina in July without any issues and averaged 28-30mpg with the car loaded down. My daily commute is 30-40 min one way and I track my fuel economy with the best being 31.5mpg and the worst being 28.4mpg. Before I started this job, the 300D was mainly used in town and averaged 22-24mpg all in town miles. The car drives beautifully on the highway and will pull 80mph easily. The suspension is very tight and as you will see in the list below, it is pretty much all new. It does have a slight pull to the right, and will eventually need a Mercedes Benz alignment; however she has had this pull for at least 5000miles with no issues, and no wear on the tires at all. The transmission has good shift points, and pulls stongly, but shifts too firmly at times. The hvac system works very well, the a/c will freeze you out, and the heater works well. All buttons work correctly moving the air to where it is supposed to be. Even the rear headrest still flip down. While this car is an exceptionally clean driver, she still has some flaws, and this auction is as-is only. There will be no refunds or anything of that nature. I prefer that anyone bidding on the car actually come out to take a look at it. I am fully disclosing any issues this car has, whether they are big or small that I know of; however it is 25 years old and I cannot make any guarantees. I will not ship the car. I am only selling because I am going to start college this year, and do not want this beautiful car to be parked on the street. Please ask any question you have, and include a number I can call (or text if you prefer) you back at. Some things that are needed:Rear driver window does not go up or down.
