Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1988 Touring Sedan because I have too many cars and not enough time or money to restore it. I bought this car in December 2009 from a woman in town who had bought another car. I towed the car home and replaced the starter and battery in my driveway which got the car running. The car was then taken to our mechanic who over the last two and a half years has replaced the: harmonic balancer, egr valve, mass airflow sensor, oxygen sensor, all four tires, front and rear brakes, catalytic converter, driver side window regulator, and a freeze out plug. I have driven the car about 15,000 miles in that time and have found the engine and transmission to be strong and reliable. I absolutely love this car but it needs a home with someone who can restore it. This car came equipt from the factory with the following: Leather seats with power front buckets, center console with floor shift and real wood trim, am/fm/cassette with graphic eq, power windows, mirrors, door locks, trunk release, antenna, brakes, and steering. Air conditioning, alloy wheels, 3800 V6 engine with fuel injection, 4 speed automatic transmission, pulse wipers, fog lamps, "sporty" exhaust, floor mats (2 sets), special trim. This car came almost fully loaded from the factory with an original sticker price of over $24,000. Known issues: The windshield leaks, the paint is shot (peeling clear coat and attempts by the prior owner to repaint parts), no/low brake pressure (may be caused by a bad brake accumulator but I cannot verify this), power window woes, and a shot steering rack. In addition there are many other things that need to be done as this car needs to be restored. The air conditioning, power door locks, power mirrors, power antenna, cassette player, fog lights and interior lights do not work. The car is complete and has very little rust (the largest patch is on the trunk lid). All repair records from my ownership come with the car as does the vehicle history report I purchased when I bought the car in 2009. This car was registered and insured until last month. It passed the Connecticut emissions test in January of this year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have! I am an Oldsmobile enthusiast and an adviser in the OCA.....I will tell you every little thing I know about this car, I just want to find it a good home! Payment is due within 7 days of the end of the auction and I will except cash (in person) or bank check only. The buyer is responsible for securing shipping as the car is not registered and needs repairs to be made road ready. This car is sold as is, where is, with no warranty implied. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Anyone who wants to see the car in person may do so, please contact me so we can arrange a time. More pictures are available upon request!
