Vehicle Detail
Relisted due to an idiot bidder who apparently had nothing better to do than win, not pay, and give me negative feedback and ruin my 100% rating. This time IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN A 10 RATING, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING otherwise your bid will be canceled. Up for auction (again) is a 1998 Volvo V70 XC Cross Country Wagon parts or repair. This was my daily driver until a few weeks ago. I do sales and drive about 60,000 miles per year. I bought this car a year ago with a bunch of maintainence issues. I put a lot of money into it including control arms, upper strut mounts, brakes, lower mileage Nivomat load-levelling rear shocks (new ones are about $500 each. I put brand new tires on the front about a month ago (about $180). Rear tires were new last summer. Both front half shafts are new in the past year. I've also replaced the alternator and the radiator with lower mileage used parts in the past 13 months. A few weeks ago it started developing a miss on the #1 cylinder, then it quit firing on #1 altogether. I brought it to a local shop and they found no compression on #1. It never did smoke except for a little bit on start-up. I can find junk yard motors for $500 to $1000, or could have it rebuilt for about $1000 but I've already moved on from this one. The body is in good condition, except for the rear hatch (rust). The interior is o.k., but the seats are stained from a leaky sunroof. A good steam clean would do them wonders. Driver's seat is pretty worn from 237,000 miles of driving. Passenger front looks like it got wet and dried too fast in the sun.The cargo area is in good shape because I had the hard mat and the extra carpet mats back there. Transmission is good. Air conditioning works great. Glass is good except for one stone chip in the windshield. Wheels are original alloys that could use a good cleaning. The rear drive shaft is out of the car. The CV was shot. I've been driving it as 2WD for the past year. I can hook you up with a place that rebuilds them for about $500. Contact me with any other questions. I can take more pics if you need them. The car actually still runs and drives, albeit on 4 cylinders. If you wanted to drive it home a short distance you could, rather than towing or trailering it. Sorry, I should have washed it before I took the pics. I really does look nice when it is clean. I would entertain offers for individual parts, but will not make the decision to part it until near auction end. Vehicle is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
