Chaney purchased a perfect, rust free 1977 Porsche 911 S from California & did a complete, frame up restoration including all new exterior & mechanical restoration with a total of $69,919.44 invested to make the perfect 911, in the style of the 1993 Porsche 911 RS America. This is a car you will want to own whether you add it to your collection for investment purposes, use it to show, drive it on weekends or want to turn it into a track car, this is tremendous opportunity. Notice the items in the picture of the trunk, rear seatbacks, original engine grill & original rear light bar, all changed out during the resto. "It was a kind gesture of you to write and introduce yourself. I had a great deal of fun working with your 911, I know you will too. I'm glad to see it land in capable and appreciative hands. That car represents over 10 years of my life. My original intent upon purchasing the '77 911 was to update it for club racing. I had Bob Farmer completely rebuild (top and bottom) and install his Stage I modifications, which boosts the 2.7L from 180 horsepower to 235 horsepower with an increase in torque equivalent to horsepower. Another great feature is that the aluminum alloy heads and cylinders (standard) were replaced with Nicosil (RSR), and allows for a higher red line. However, I rarely went above the recommended 6800 rpm (or whatever the standard factory max rpm). On the body, I did a frame up restoration to the RS America so it would look presentable while driving about. All the panels (bumpers, fenders, whale tail, etc.) are Porsche Factory with the exception of the door panels, those were repros purchased new from Automotion (A Porsche parts distributor.) I think the car weight is around 2300 lbs. About the only thing original is the front bonnet and of course the frame and some interior. The seats are the factory Recaro Turbo. It was a great car for me; but I got more into Bentley's and only had a specified amount of time & room to keep it.
