Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1967 Pontiac Firebird convertible. I found this car in a Garage in Phoenix the other day and figured someone out there would love to restore it. The guy I bought it from said he had purchased it in Mesa, Arizona in 1990. He drove it home and put it in the garage and there it sat until I came along. He said it ran and drove great but the transmission leaked a little. When I got it home I looked up some of the trim tag information and found out that it was originally painted Coronado Gold with a Cream convertible top. The interior was originally black custom vinyl bucket seats. Well as you can see, it is now red with red interior and a white soft top. Seems like everything from the 60s got painted red in the 80s. Anyway, the original color combo would be much prettier I think. It is a column shift automatic and I would think anyone doing a restoration would go ahead and convert it to a floor shift with a console. It is an original V8 car and is still has a V8 in it. The engine has a code of VX which from my research comes back as a 400 cubic inch. I am not really a Pontiac guy so if that is wrong let me know. It has a 2 barrel carb on it and it turns over by hand and the previous owner said with fresh gas and a battery it would start right up. He said the last time it was running was about 5 years ago. He was in his 70s and seemed like a pretty honest old guy. The body is pretty nice. It has been in an Arizona garage for the last 22 years so it hasn't had much exposure to the elements. It does have a little rust (very minimal) in both quarters behind both wheels and a small hole in the trunk (see picture). The seats appear to be original but have been covered in some ugly 80s fabric. The top is shot and needs replaced. It came with a power top but the cylinders have been removed and are in the trunk. This is just a good restoration project with a pretty nice solid Arizona body. Its kind of a blank canvas. You could take it back to original or make it whatever you want. Bid away...the high bidder will own it!! I am offering this car at no reserve. Please do not bid unless you intend to buy. I encourage all potential bidders to inspect the car before bidding. I require full payment within 7 days. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Please email questions or feel free to call me at 816-716-2417.
