Vehicle Detail

This is a 1977 Pontiac Can Am. There were only1300 of them produced and this was the only year they were produced. Few of these cars survived. The car has electric windows, and electric locks that seems to work. This particular car runs and drives exceptionally well for its age. This car was purchased new from Joe Coker Pontiac in Midwest city, Oklahoma. The second owner bought the car in 1978 and we bought it from the second owner 3 or so years ago. The car comes complete with what is believed to be the original motor and an additional passenger door that ironically came from another Can am. There is some rust; primarily in the lower doors, small silver dollar sized holes in the lower quarter panels, and in the front driver side floor. An extra less rusty passenger side door comes with the car, the rest of the rust is only going to need slight patch jobs. The car needs restoration but drives nicely and very smooth. Drive this car almost anywhere. The car has 112,XXX miles The 1977 Can Am is the only true Muscle car made in 1977 aside the Trans Am and Camaro Z28. The Can Am was a package on Lemans Sport Coupes. It included the Trans Am 6.6 L engine and drivetrain, radial tuned suspension, Grand Prix interior, and this White with Can Am stripes appearance. These cars are very rare and they are the next popular highly sought after classic car. There were 5,000 orders for Can Ams by the dealers, but after the mould for the rear Can Am spoiler broke they decided to discontinue production. This car was highly optioned, it even has a trash bin in the lower passenger side kick panel. This car has air conditioning, but it needs to be charged. Some plastic pieces in the interior of the car are starting to crumble, and the steering wheel has some electrical tape on it but it still looks good. The Dash pad needs replacing and so does the carpet as it is sun beaten. The console is in good shape and the instrument panel is practically flawless. All gauges but the oil pressure work. There is an auxillary oil pressure gauge that indicates good oil pressure. The headliner is fine too. The car will need a new windshield. Wheels and tires are in good condition and look great. It has a good green Oklahoma title. With elbow grease and TLC this car would be a nice rare car. If you want something that no one else has then bid on this. Other than an exhaust leak the engine makes noise when the car is cold. Don't expect this car to be perfect, it needs restoration and it is all original. 1977 cars are on the way up in the market place. This car gets lots of looks and questions even with the current patina. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Bid with confidence on this all original classic that is in need of restoration. Thanks I have 53 other pictures of the car available through searching jharp93 at photobucket.com or by e mail. Frame Rails are solid and rust free, along with wheel wells. The trunk only seems to have some surface rust, but expect small pin holes. Fenders are for the most part rust free. Chrome is in pretty good shape. This car is pretty mechanically solid, but it has not gone further than 50 miles in the past 12 years. I believe the car could make a fairly long drive in nice weather, but I would consider trailering it if the drive would be longer than 100 or so miles. It runs great and drives very smoothly. Ebay won't allow any links to other picture hosting websites so if you message me I can send you a link with 53 other pictures of the car.
