Up for sale is my personal car. I'm not a dealer or someone who is fronting a car for someone else. This is not a restored perfect car, but a fun survivor of the past. There are some important details associated with this car so please read the whole page. This 51 Plymouth is sporty and runs and drives effortlessly straight down the road. The engine has excellent compression and idles smoothly and does not smoke from oil. Clutch and transmission and rear end are real tight. This car was updated in the last couple of years to a 12-volt electrical system, front disc brakes, as well as a new double housing master cylinder and brake lines. All four corners have new suspension. (Leaf in the rear, coil in front) It has new shocks all the way around. There is evidence of a small floor repair just inside both doors. The rest is solid. Four great radials on the ground and one in the trunk. Beyond the 12-volt system and disc brakes, this car is stock and original. This is an honest car you need not be afraid of. Radio does not work, interior is 90 % original except for new carpet and padding. The paint is old, but still shiny. I don't see any evidence of rust, either old or recent. The body has a few scratches or minor nicks or dents that aren't visible in the photos. The chrome still adorns the car nicely, but also shows some parking lot nicks and bumps here and there. Not pictured on the car are fender skirts that fit well and are straight pieces, but have some nicks and chips. I prefer this car without skirts, however, they go with the car. They are the same old finish. This car, you can probably drive and show off without a great deal of work. Exhaust is good and sturdy, but has a mild sounding glass pack (barely hear it). I have the original owners manual and a repair book. Original horn does not work, but the after market horn is excellent. We sold both our houses recently, and we now live in an apartment, so the car is presently occupying an extra parking spot in our secure, drive under garage. We aren't allowed to work on hobby cars anywhere on the property, so I've decided to sell this nice little car that took me a long while to find and buy. I want a $500 cashiers check within 72 hours of the close of the auction and the balance within 7 days, certified money only, NO PAY PAL. I have paid for the garage space through September.
