Vehicle Detail
I'm the original owner. If you want a low mileage work truck in like-new condition, this one is for you. I bought the truck in September 2009 for home projects and around-town driving. My work situation changed and now I commute a lot, so I upgraded to a higher-end F150 with more creature comforts. This truck averages 17.9 miles per gallon in all-around driving (shown in one of the pictures). That is very good for a full size truck. Even better, it gets close to 21 mpg on the open highway. There are few if any trucks out there that can match the mileage of an F150. Included is a hard tonneau cover by Advance Covers. It fully covers the bed with four flip sections. With the cover and the tailgate locked, the bed is secure. The front quarter and rear quarter sections lock and flip open independently for easy access to the front and rear of the bed without opening the tailgate. WIth the tailgate open, the rear three sections fold and secure to the front of the bed (shown in one of the pictures) to provide full access to 3/4 of the bed length. The truck is drivable with the tonneau in the full-open and full-closed positions. The cover is completely removable with a pair of pliers in about two minutes. It weights about 40 pounds, so light enough for one person to handle. The cover reinstalls just as easily. I park this truck outside in my driveway because it won't quite fit in my garage. The tonneau cover is nice because it keeps rain, snow and leaves out. It's also great for shopping since you can secure things in the bed of the truck and leave it. I had installed Luverne "O-Mega Steps" wheel-to-wheel side steps. They provide easy of entry to the cab (my wife loves that part), as well as ease of access to the front of the bed (shown in the pictures). Most side steps only extend to the rear of the cab, and do not provide ease-of-access to the truck's bed. The truck has a rugged, spray-in bed liner. I prefer the spray-ins because, unlike the plastic inserts, they are not susceptible to water getting behind them and rusting the bed. The truck has a DrawTite Class IV hitch for this of you who need to tow. I never actually used it, but thought I might eventually. Also included is a pair of 8-foot wooden ramps built with heavy duty brackets that secure easily in three different positions to the tailgate of the truck. The ramps will not fall away from the truck as you walk up or down them. You can install the ramps side-by-side (no gap), or in two additional positions with a gap between the ramps so that wheeled mowers, blowers, etc., of various widths can be rolled up them. The ramps have metal, non-slip treads to help you go up and down. The ramps fit in the 8' bed so you can carry them around with no problem. Also included are Thule self-tensioning snow chains. They are brand new. I installed them once just to make sure that they worked but never actually needed them. Although the truck is 2WD, it does fairly well in light snow with the F150-standard AdvanceTrac feature turned on. There is one minor blemish on the front, right bumper pad (shown in the pictures). I pulled too close to the wall in a tight parking garage. The truck is still under warranty. It has factory 3-year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper coverage which will expire in September. It has factory 5 year/60,000 mile power train and roadside assist coverage. I also purchased an after-market (non-Ford) extended warranty which provides 8-year/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper coverage. It is by Warranty Solutions and and is insured by Heritage Indemnity Company out of Denver. Like most such warranties, it does not cover normal maintenance items like fluids, belts, hoses, etc I never had occasion to use the warranty, so I cannot say much more than that. The warranty is transferrable if you want to pay the additional transfer fee of $75. The contract wording is such that I'm the one who must pay the fee and initiate the transfer. You must be the end buyer for the warranty to transfer. It is not transferrable to any intermediary like a dealer. I cannot guarantee that the warranty will transfer since that decision is in the hands of the warranty company. However, if it does not transfer, I will refund your $75. The opening bid amount of $12,200 is the amount a local Ford dealer just offered me so that he could sell it on his used-truck lot. If you win the auction and you want the extended warranty, you will owe me an additional $75 to transfer the warranty. I've probably forgotten to provide some info you will want to know. Ask questions. I'll do my best to answer them.
