Vehicle Detail

I listed this car a few months back but now that summer is here I am re-listing it. In the last six months I have seen three other similar cars sell for over $10,500 the reserve is much lower on this one best of luck to all bidders!!! Hello and thanks for looking, Up for sale is a 1926 Buick. I will do my best to describe everything to the fullest detail I can. First, the history of the car as I know it: This car was bought by my father around 1982. It was sitting in a barn in its original condition having never been restored before. When he purchased the car it went into about an eleven year frame-off restoration. The body was taken off and the frame was sand blasted and repainted solid black. The body work was done by a local body shop in Eaton Rapids MI, and later this would include the paint as well. The motor work was done by my dad, and the interior was done by a local upholstery shop in Charlotte, MI. The car was finished around 1993 and drove lovingly for the next 7 years to many local events and shows where it took several top place finishes. In 2000, the car had some motor problems (at this point I am not sure too much on what exactly was wrong as I was in the Army and was not home with my dad). I do know that the exhaust manifold has a crack in it and the car was "running rough". So my dad pulled the motor to do some work on it. Unfortunately, soon after, he fell ill to cancer and the car sat idle as an unfinished project. After he passed, I inherited the car in 2003. I always had the best of intentions to finish the project but as life moved on I never had the time or luxury to do so. So, at this time, it is time for the car to move on to someone who can love her and finish her to enjoy the days of the old. Since I got the car it has sat in the back corner of my garage under a cover. The details as I know them: Everything on the car is as original as it gets. All the small hardware was sent off to the chrome shop to be redone, plus everything like the bumpers and the headlight rings as well. The body is all the original steel. No replacement or patches were done on this car. The motor is out of the car and partially disassembled in an unknown condition, but I do know it was running when my dad took it out. As far as I know, all the parts are there to completely reassemble the car 99.9%. There maybe some nuts and bolts missing. The car is still set up on a 6 volt electrical system to my knowledge. I believe this is what they referred to as a master six and I believe it is a 120" wheelbase The interior is in great shape and was done to be all original. The seat frames, springs, and panels are all original. The upholstery and the headliner have been restored. The paint on the car is in great shape. When it was painted it was painted with a hard enamel not a base coat clear coat. The only "ding" on the car that I know of is a small spot on the rear driver side fender about the size of a dime. It looks like something hit the fender from the underside of the car and put a small buckle in it. There is custom hand painted pin striping on the car. Each wooden wheel has the same hand painted pin striping to match the car's body. The tires are weather cracked from sitting for so long. They still hold air no problem but I do not know if I would drive them on the road. The roof was redone and is in great shape. It has all the origianl bowing in it, only the covering was redone with a type of rubber matting. This was matched to the original. The running boards were redone with the same type of rubber matting as the top was as well. Overall the car is in close to show condition minus the motor being out of her. With the time and money I would not hesitate to drive this car to a show tomorrow if it was just put back together. I have other cars that my dad left me when he passed and I have realized I can not hold onto everything forever so it it time for her to go. I would like to see her go to a good home!!! I have tried to give the best description of everything that I know about the car. I was a kid when my dad restored this one so I never really learned a lot about it. My personal taste always leaned more towards the 50's and 60's. If you have any questions please feel free to call Kevin at 517-927-6560 I am in Eastern standard time Shipping will be solely at the buyers expense. I will assist in any way possible but will not deliver the car. It will need to be trailored Payment must be made in full within 14 days of the close of auction or at time of possession of the vehicle which ever is first.
