This car was purchased from a gentleman who bought it from his cousin in 1974. Over a period of years, it was completely disassembled and restored to totally stock condition. A complete account of this can be seen @ mccainautomotive.com/LawerencetheCar.htm It has about 10,000 miles showing on the speedometer, but I don`t know if it was reset when it was rebuilt. The motor runs and starts well as everything internally was replaced or repaired when it was rebuilt. The transmission shifts smoothly, but it takes a little practice since these were built without synchronizers. It has mechanical brakes, I had always heard horror stories about them, but you can`t tell the difference when driving this car. It stops smoothly and doesn`t pull to either side. The electrical system is still 6 volts, and the charging system uses an alternator so there is always plenty of power to keep the battery charged. The car was completed several years ago and has a few chips in the paint, but overall the car is in excellent shape. It has turn signals and halogen headlamps with new lenses and reflectors.
