Vehicle Detail

This Ford Explorer XLT car has the rare option of being a 4X4 with Manual 5 speed transmission, it also is equipped with a 2" Class III U haul hitch cover . I am the second owner and I purchased it in 1995. To be clear this car needs some work. The engine is strong and pulls, however, there is a small oil leak which I think is from the Valve Cover gasket. Also the air condition needs a recharge as well as a new heater core, as the current one has a small pin hole and therefore I have disconnected the heater hoses to bypass the heater core (see image). The exhaust systems needs some work as well as there seems to be a leak in the system and to pass CA smog the catalytic converter needs to be changed, even though two years ago it did pass smog! Performance: The car does drive, however, after 4000 rpm the car does have a momentarily power drop which a mechanic told me was due to the exhaust leak issue. I did just recently change all the spark plugs with platinum ones just to make sure it was nothing to do with the engine, and the engine did run smoother with the new plugs but near the exhaust you can still hear a "diesel like" sound (note this car runs on gas not diesel). The battery is dead from not being driven regularly, however, as soon as the jumper cables are connected it starts right up. Exterior: I have done the best that I can to illustrate all the damages to the car. The left rear corner has been hit but damage is only limited to the bumper and the corner body, no structural damage. As the car is roughly 20 years old, the paint shows wear in some places where the clear coat is damaged. There are some dings and dents here and there, also the left front quarter panel is damaged when someone put the jack on the sheet metal instead of the jack point which caused the metal to bow out, again, only limited to sheet metal and nothing structural. The car has been in California all it's life and there is virtually zero rust. Interior: The interior is in pretty good shape when you regard the age of the truck, but there are some rips and tears in the head liner and the sun shades. This model Ford is known for having defective plastic around the door handles both on the inside and outside, and about 2 years ago I had all these changed so all handles work. The previous owner had put speakers in the bottom section of the rear passenger doors. I had the right rear passenger door panel changed so it is back to stock with no hole, however, at the time the place where I got the door panel only had the right one in stock with the same color scheme, so if you see in the pictures there is still an opening on the left rear passenger door panel. The door panel at the time cost approximately $40 so it is an easy fix, I just never got around to doing the left side. Please note I have done my best to illustrate and describe the car as best as I could, and this is a 20 year old car with some issues, I suggest anyone who is interested to come and visit the car and perform a test drive, but at the same time I would be more than happy to answer any questions any prospective buyer should have.
