Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE!! Up for sale is my beloved 2001 Audi TT Quattro Coupe. It’s the 225HP, 6 speed version (AMU engine code) with: cruise control, power windows, doors, Bose premium audio w/ 6 disc changer, heated seats, leather interior (aviator gray) keyless entry, alarm w/ proximity sensor, fold down rear seats, and optional cup holders. Car is in great condition for an 11 year old car, just look at the pics. I also have many more pics, so please email me if you’d like me to send. The car has 132,017 miles currently, but the engine was partially rebuilt by Audi at 83,760 miles due to a failed (stripped) timing belt which bent a bunch of valves and destroyed the head. The car was under warranty at the time so Audi of America replaced the entire top end of the engine (which I have the paperwork for). Here’s a list of what was replaced: cylinder head, head gasket, timing belt, roller, tensioner, water pump, thermostat, vacuum lines, and bunch of miscellaneous screws, bolts, and gaskets. So the car has less than 50K miles on the top end of the engine. It runs perfectly and sounds amazing. In addition to the top end rebuild of the engine, I’ve done quite a bit of work on the car myself as I’m pretty anal when it comes to my cars. Here’s a list of the maintenance done by myself on the car, most done w/in the last year: oil changes every 7,500 miles using Mobil 1 full synthetic replaced fuel filter w/ Mahle filter w/in last year replaced cabin / interior air filter w/in last year replaced Haldex oil and filter w/in last 8K miles (AWD unit) replaced transmission fluid w/ Redline full synthetic w/in last year...shifts smooth as silk w/ no notchiness or grinding at all in any gear rebuilt instrument cluster in 2009 w/ ModuleMasters...replaced center info display so no dead pixels at all replaced coolant flange and all coolant (w/ proper Pentosin) w/in last year replaced A/C compressor, expansion valve, drier, all o-rings, flushed lines, and fan control relay nearly a year ago...A/C blows ice cold and car has no overheating issues replaced front brake rotors w/ slotted rotors, EBC greenstuff padsbrand new battery (in May '12)State safety and emissions in Jun '12 I’m sure there’s more, but that’s what comes to mind immediately. As far as upgrades, as you can tell by the pics, I’ve done quite a few of those as well. Here’s a list of the upgrades, and the cost of what I paid for them. Most, if not all, were done w/in the last year: Regula Tuning front and rear bumpers (installed a month ago) - $900 shipped (http://www.regulatuning.de/Audi/Audi-TT-8N/Bodykit/Audi-TT-8N-Bodykit::60.html?XTCsid=prdknd195jq7d26di0fs0airo3) just for the kit Votex (authentic) side skirts (installed a month ago) - total cost of the body kit and paint/prep cost me right around $2,400 ($900 for the Regula kit, $250 for the Votex sides, and $1,200 for the paint and install) 19’ ASA AR9 wheels which are mint...absolutely no curbage at all...only been on the car about a total of 200 miles $600 225/35-19 Pirelli P-zero Rossos w/ probably 8/32nds or more on them....they still have the little nipples sticking out the sides - $1000 ST Coilovers (adjustable height but not dampening) -$800 (http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-TT_MKI-Quattro-225HP/News/Audi_ST_Coilovers_/). As seen in the pics, the rears are bottomed out, however, the rear perches are still in, so if you remove the perches, you can lower an add’l 1/4” or so. The fronts have 9 threades remaining (or about 1” of the threaded body left) so they can come down quite a bit more. I have them set high so as not to scrape coming out of my driveway. Also, the pics were taken right after having the car in the air, so they’ll likely settle a bit more over the next couple days. Bluewater fully adjustable rear control arms (4 total) so you can fully adjust the rears (camber and toe) which is absolutely a must when lowering past 1”....which I have. They’re beautiful pieces and cost me $420 (http://bwperformance.com/products/2832-vr6/vw-r32-audi-tt-adjustable-control-arms) Replaced all front suspension bushings when I did the coilovers...poly bushes in the front control arms (from and rear) - $150 Painted stock calipers (G2 white paint w/ Audi decals clear coated in) - $30 Evo Motorsports air intake - $350 shipped (http://uspmotorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=128) - sounds amazing and allows you to finally hear the wonderful turbo sounds (spooling and blowoff/recirc) Blueflame catback exhaust - $650. I cut the tips off the exhaust to hide the whole thing under the rear valance of the Regula bumper b/c I thought it looked a lot cleaner than cutting holes in then valance for the exhaust tips to exit...pretty sure they don’t make this exhaust anymore. ECS Tuning Anthracite TT floor mats (front only) and trunk mat w/ dividers - $100 So, about $6.5K in mods alone, which were installed only within the last year or two. Also included w/ the car are an extra set of wheels (original Audi Fat Fives) w/ winter tires on the fronts and all seasons on the rears. These tires have about 40-50% life left on them. They’re curbed pretty bad and have peeling clearcoat so they’re not perfect, but are straight and true w/ no cracks or structural damage. They’d make a good track set if you so choose...or sell ‘em and recoup some cash, or refinish ‘em and have another nice set to change the look! Other extras included w/ car: Car cover (not sure of brand, but pretty heavy and protects well. Haldex wrench...a must when replacing the haldex filter, which is nearly impossible to reach w/o the wrench. You need to do the Haldex oil every 20K miles and the filter every other change. If you want it, I can also throw in the stock exhaust, which I still have. The Blueflame catback on it now is nearly as quiet as the stocker...very mild sound increase and not the least bit annoying. Lastly, let me describe the only things on the car that are not working perfectly as they should. First, the gas gauge isn’t properly calibrated, so only half of its sweep works (meaning, when the tank is empty, the needle is pointing to the half way mark). The gauge itself works and shows full when full, and slowly goes down to half tank (empty), however, it’s just not calibrated correctly, and I didn’t want to send the cluster back to ModuleMasters a third time (I sent it to them twice to fix my cluster’s temp gauge and info display). I use the trip remaining function to know how much gas I have left...plus, the low fuel warning still works so I never felt the need to get it calibrated. I’ve heard you can calibrate it w/ a VAG-COM, which I never got around to getting. Next, the glove box latch doesn’t work any longer...problem with pretty much all TTs...I have it locked in the closed position and it stays there, but if you don’t lock it, it will pop open and the stop on it is broken, so it will swing all the way down. I keep it closed and locked all the time just to avoid the hassle. Other than that, the car has the usual nicks, chips, scratches, and coffee stains you’d expect on an 11 year old car, although I think they are pretty minor as you can see in the pics. The upholstery on the top of the hatch is sagging, but it’s only over the part that sits in the trunk, so you only see it when the hatch is open. The leather is Aviator grey and there are no tears at all in the seats, although as you can see in the pics, there is minimal cracking in the drivers seat and bolster, but nothing has gone thru. Leatherique makes a leather dye which would probably get them looking like new again...I had always planned on doing this but never got around to it. Overall, the car is in very good condition inside and out, and runs excellent. I’m only selling b/c I bought a new toy (which you may see in the background of some of the pics...a Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet :-) No longer room in the garage for all the toys so the Audi has to go :-(
