I purchased this Rabbit with 150k on the speedometer. Didn't know the motor needed rebuilt. Rebuilt the motor ($700.00 machine shop expense, complete rebuild) reinstalled the motor and have driven it for 50k miles now. Parked it in December of 2011 and haven't driven it since. The license was not renewed in December. The car is ROUGH, windshield leaks when it rains. CV joint starting to pop when you turn a corner hard. The door handles don't work the best. A/C heater blower motor quit working. Needs new rear tires. Hit 3 deer and front metal is pounded out and a different colored hood. I was going to install the motor in a skid loader or a utility tractor, but have way too many projects. Wife said it must leave the driveway. In my opinion the car is a parts car or use the mechanical for a project. The motor, transmission, clutch, brakes are all good. Love this motor! 42mpg average and 46mpg. It's clacky and smokey and the harder you push it the the better mpg. Good luck in bidding. No reserve price. It will drive but should be trailered home.
