Vehicle Detail

Located in central Massachusetts, this 1963 Plymouth Valiant Signet convertible is a ONE OWNER CAR and is being sold by the lady who bought it new in 1963. Despite being a Massachusetts car, it is not rusty and retains its original sheet metal, trunk and floor panels. Originally built as a P-code Red car with a P-code Red interior and a White top, it was restored a decade ago to this stock configuration and is a very presentable car that's capable of being driven on a daily basis. It is one of 9,164 Signet convertibles made in 1963 and is powered by its original iron-block 225 Slant Six with an unusual 3-Speed Manual Transmission, with a column shift lever. The red vinyl interior is mostly stock with reupholstered seats in a stock-style pattern. The white vinyl top is new - with NO tears or rips and has a clear plastic rear window that has NO KINKS OR TEARS from being folded too many times. The power top power motor works well and the engine, transmission, clutch, rear axle are all ready for daily use. The stock 9-inch manual drum brakes and manual steering are ready for daily use. The tires are modern 13-inch white-wall radials mounted on the stock 13-inch steel rims with the original Signet full-face wheel covers in place. The original factory AM radio is present as are the original Owner's Manual and Warranty Book (with this car's VIN engraved into the cover). The car passed the rigorous Massachusetts vehicle state safety inspection in May 2011 with no trouble. The only negative points are a small star-crack in the passenger side of the windshield (the size of a quarter-dollar), some peeling chrome on the bumpers, a bit of body filler on the outer rear quarter panels and a so-so paint job with some minor orange peel and minute imperfections here and there. In summary, you are bidding on a very uncommon Signet convertible that's survived without major rust and has been lovingly restored to solid daily driver status. Summer is here, enjoy it in a nice bright red convertible! The seller is the ORIGINAL owner, who bought it new at Edward H. Spencer Chrysler-Plymouth in Warren, MA back in 1963. I am helping her sell it on eBay Motors because she is not hip to computers, the Internet or the miracle of eBay Motors. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 508-637-1514. My name is Steve Magnante and I'd be happy to answer your questions since I am a Mopar fan and know the car very well. The Buy It Now price is $10,000 - with a significantly lower reserve. This auction will run for SEVEN DAYS. Good luck and please take my word for it, this Signet is very solid and stands high above the typical rusty cars seen in this part of the country. It has been loved, preserved and cared for since new. Bid with confidence and Good Luck! -Steve Magnante
