THE SECOND, WHO RESTORED IT, OWNED IT FOR THE NEXT 28 YEARS AND THE THIRD OWNER HAD IT FOR THE NEXT 15. THIS CAR HAS BEEN PARKED INDOORS FOR THE LAST 43 YEARS WITH 69 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES ON IT. THE SECOND OWNER STORED THE CAR FOR THE BETTER PART OF 20 YEARS SHORTLY AFTER RESTORATION AND THE THIRD OWNER PUT LESS THAN 1,000 MILES ON IT DURING HIS 15 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. BOTH THE SECOND AND THIRD OWNERS USED THE CAR PRIMARILY FOR PARADES, CAR SHOWS OR JUST TO SHOW IT OFF TO THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. INCIDENTALLY, THE SECOND AND THIRD OWNERS ARE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS FROM MICHIGAN AND KNOW THE CARS HISTORY FIRST HAND. THIS CAR COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL 82 YEAR OLD MICHIGAN TITLE THAT IS LAMINATED TO PRESERVE ITS NEAR PERFECT CONDITION AND THE FIRST LICENSE PLATES EVER PUT ON THE CAR! ALSO INCLUDED: COMPLETE COPY OF THE “FINER SIX” De SOTO SIX INSTRUCTION BOOK AN N.O.S De SOTO “8” INSTRUCTION BOOK IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AN ORIGINAL “STANDARDS OF ADJUSTMENT” DATA SHEET SPECIFICALLY FOR THE 1930 De SOTO SIX MODEL CK COPYRIGHT 1935 WHICH IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION A PHOTO COPY OF THE STANDARD AUTO-ELECTRICIAN’S MANUAL FOR THE CK SIX COPYRIGHT 1930 MISCELLANEOUS DOCUMENTS AND RECEIPTS RELATED TO THIS CLASSIC This is an amazingly clean, very well done previous restoration of the highly desirable and hard–to–find 1930 De Soto “FINER SIX” CK 4DR Sedan. She starts up, runs and drives perfectly. NO FUNNY NOISES, NO SMOKE! The body panel lines are laser straight and the doors close effortlessly. This car is mechanically sound in every way. All gauges and lights work. Even the rare and hard-to-find park lights and the interior courtesy light work. The gas gauge is a little finicky as it sticks sometimes. The speedometer cable is a little noisy but both the speedometer and odometer work fine. The windshield wiper motor and original wiper arm are included but are not installed. It is doubtful that this car has seen rain in decades. Perhaps the new owner will elect not to install it either. The interior is unbelievable! The undercarriage, frame, and floor boards are very clean, rust free, damage free and totally solid. Can the car make a distance road trip? My answer is a resounding “yes”. I would drive this car anywhere locally, including the mountains here in Colorado with no hesitation. NO OVER HEATING PROBLEMS EVER THIS CLASSIC ISN’T A TRAILER QUEEN, NOR IS IT PERFECT. REMEMBER THIS IS AN 82 YEAR OLD CAR, BUT YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW BY LOOKING AT IT. IT SHOWS THAT IT WAS WELL CARED FOR BUT IT WAS ALSO DRIVEN AND ENJOYED. This beautiful classic is numbers matching on the engine, frame and drive train. The engine and drive train have never been out of the car. It has all of the original door pulls inside and out, as well as, the original widow cranks and dome light frame and cover. Upon close inspection you’ll find that there were some paint imperfections that have been touched up over time. The passenger side front fender paint at the very bottom of the front by the bumper was chipped but was touched up with matching paint as was a few nicks and slight scratches here and there. There are areas way down on the driver’s side rocker panel (just below the door sill) where the paint is starting show small bubbles and along the drip rails (rain gutters). The front and rear bumpers are very nice but have a few small areas where the chrome has let go but it too has been repaired. The passenger side front window is cracked but is still very solid and functional. All other glass is excellent. THERE IS NO REASON WHY YOU COULDN’T TAKE THIS EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF CLASSIC AMERICAN STYLE AND INGENUITY TO ANY LOCAL OR REGIONAL CAR SHOW AS IT SITS AND SHOW IT WITH PRIDE. NOT TO MENTION THAT YOU WOULD MOST LIKELY BE THE ONLY ONE THERE WITH A 1930 De SOTO CK 4DR SEDAN AS NICE AS THIS ONE.
