FOR SALE ’72 F-250 This has been a good and faithful truck; I am selling in order to pay down some debts. Odometer presently shows approximately 97000 original miles. Purchased from original owner approximately 7 1/2 yr ago; the truck had about 80K miles at that time. The original owner took excellent care of the truck for its full history. I have the original owner’s contact information. This truck is in exceptionally clean unrestored condition. See photos of exterior, interior, and underside. 360 V-8 engine, with 4-spd Warner T-18 manual transmission. (original) The truck has power steering and power brakes (drum type on all wheels). This truck has the 4.10 Dana rear end gearing (factory original). The chassis lubrication has been maintained. The universal joints on the 2-piece drive shaft are in good condition. The truck has a fresh complete engine rebuild with approximately 10K miles. (The engine ran well before the rebuild; I had decided to rebuild due to the fact that the original seals and gaskets were leaking quite a bit of oil.) The truck runs happily on regular 87-octane unleaded gas. Hardened valve faces, valve seats, and new valve seals. At time of engine rebuild, the clutch/pressure plate/bearing was also replaced, along with the gear oil and seals in the gearbox, and rear end. Other components were replaced at that time, including oil pump, fuel pump, thermostat, hoses, ignition wires and components, etc. The light blue paint is original, and in overall good condition. There is only a minimal amount of surface rust on some parts of the underside of the truck (see photos). The tires are almost brand new. The spare tire, while not as new, is also in very good serviceable condition. The interior is also 100% original including flooring, seat upholstery, headliner, Philco AM radio, etc. I have kept a full maintenance record since purchasing the truck. This auction also includes many old and new spare parts to go with the truck. The auction also includes a full set of Ford shop manuals. Also includes the original owner’s manual and Ford owner card. HIGHLIGHTS: Very clean inside and out. Engine bay is also is in very clean original condition. See photos. Fresh engine rebuild with 10K miles; runs beautifully. New clutch with 10K miles. Almost new tires. New battery and starter. All systems operate well. LOWLIGHTS: The “Brake” light on the dash is on. (See photo). This light has been on since the engine rebuild (for the last three years). (Brake system has operated normally the entire time, with no pulling, sponginess, or other adverse behavior.) There has been a very slight (~10 cc / month) brake fluid leak at the right front brake cylinder. I have purchased a new replacement wheel cylinder, but have not installed yet. Again, the brakes have worked normally for me ever since I have owned the truck. The turn signal works fine, but does not self cancel. This has been this way since I bought the truck, and I personally don’t mind driving it this way. While there is basically no rust, the original owner did place a few drilled holes in various places on the tailgate, and bumper. He also installed a small port (door) on the side of the bed, to accommodate an auxiliary gas tank. This does not detract from the appearance. Also, there’s a small ugly cosmetic area due to a leaking gas cap (gas cap has been replaced). No refunds. Item is sold as-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
