I have a 1977 Mustang II Cobra II clone up for auction. When I got this car a few years ago it had no engine or transmission in it and had been sitting in a car trailer for 15 years, it still had the tags from 1995 on it. The motor was blown and the owner planned on getting it back on the road but never did. I bought it and put the engine, trans, radiator, tires, and interior on it from a 1976 Mustang that I had that was rusted out. The motor is is from 1974 I think, not the origional, It runs strong and doesn't burn oil. The body is solid except for some surface rust and a few dings. The floor pans are good but are starting to get some surface rust and there is a rust hole in the back quarter panel from a mouse nest from sitting so long. It needs a new heater core which I have. The seats and door panels are in great shape, no rips or tears but it's going to need new carpet and the ceiling cover has some holes from mice.. I have some extra parts that will go with car like an extra T-4 transmission, front bumper, starters, power steering pump, rear window louvers, and radiator. It's going to need some work like ball joints and a paint job but there is not alot of these Mustang II fastbacks out there anymore that are solid and I really believe this could be turned into a nice classic Mustang, I just don't have the time anymore.
