Vehicle Detail

Year: 2003 Make: Oldsmobile Model: Alero Exterior: Red Interior: Tan/Grey Miles: 190,000 (see disclaimer below) Initial Disclaimer: In June 2012, while performing regular transmission maintenance, some transmission pan screw heads were broken off . After attempting to fix the problem (drilling and boring the screws out and re-threading the holes), the transmission stopped functioning. While I don't know the exact reason for the transmission not working, it is assumed that it will need to be replaced. History: This 2003 Oldsmobile Alero was bought in 2004 from a family member. Upon buying, the seller explained that the car had been purchased used through a dealer, and that the dealer had told them that it was a rental car prior to being sold to him. Since 2004, our family has used the car, and we have put around 160,000 miles on it. Current Condition: The Car has been garaged at our residence in Houston, TX since the transmission incidence in April. Aside from the transmission, I would merit that the car would fall in Kelly Blue Book's "good" category. Negatives: It has a decent number of exterior dents and flaws, the dash covering has some cosmetic issues, and there is a possibility of some unknown mechanical issues due to the engine mileage. Positives: Other than the dash, the entire inside of the car is clean (no rips, tears, major stains, etc.). The entire A/C system was replaced in summer of 2011, the engine functions properly (spark plugs were changed summer 2011), the rotors were replaced and the oil was changed at time of transmission incident. All regular maintenance had been performed before the transmission incident (as an FYI, this wasn't the first time that a bolt head was broken off while doing transmission flush maintenance. In 2011 a similar incident occurred, but was fixed using the method described above. As a result of this previous incident, there was a small transmission fluid leak, causing the underside of the car to have a large amount of grease stains, etc.) Payment/Close of Sale Provisions: Payment will be accepted through PayPal, or Cashiers Check/Cash in Person. Preferred payment method is PayPal. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close. Shipping and Delivery: All shipping charges/arrangements are the "Buyer's" responsibility. Legal: The Title on this vehicle is free and clear. This vehicle is being sold "As-Is - Where Is" according to Texas State Law. Once a sales transaction has taken place, and the vehicle leaves it's current location, the vehicle becomes the property and responsibility of the buyer. The Seller will not be responsible for any damage which takes place in shipping/delivery, nor will the seller be responsible for any unknown repairs, or for the repairs herein described.
