Vehicle Detail

1964 Buick 2 door hardtop, barn find, V6 automatic, power steering and brakes, air conditioned, original paint. Body is 99% rust free and straight. Was Florida car, last regular registration about 1982. I have owned it for seven years, kept in dry storage, planned to restore (very easy restoration), but too many projects, and too little time. Beauty of this car is the original paint (easy to repaint) and the condition of the sheet metal. Has one small rust spot, passengers side--rear window leaked into the package shelf then down into the trunk. Water ran out at wheel lip--absolutely no rust in trunk. Two rust holes smaller than my fingernail, super easy fix--no other rust (except some very light surface rust on painted areas). Sheet metal very straight, doors hood and trunk aligned perfectly, close with Buick clunk. Doesn't appear to have ever been wrecked, small dent on LH rear quarter, chrome very nice, looks like it will clean up nicely. Started regularly, runs and drives, would not recommend driving off--tires are old, brakes should be checked, etc. been sitting for years, (fuel stabilized). Should be trailered until all gone thru. Has aftermarket A/C, doesn't run, expect freon all gone. Interior just so-so, front seats OK, headliner needs replacement and also rear seat covers, carpet is passable. Some weather stripping deteriorated. I've accumulated a few parts for replacement (included)--trim pieces, etc. Most interior parts are reproduced. Having purchased a few old cars, I've learned that 95% of what is important on a car for restoration is the condition of the sheet metal, all the mechanical, paint and trim items pale in comparison to the difficulty of trying to restore a rusted out car. Not sure on the mileage on this car, I suspect it's 132,034, but as the car appears all original, it's possible that it's only 32,034. Looks like the last it was driven regularly was 1982 (last FL inspection sticker). It obviously was parked in the sun, based on the faded paint and deteriorated interior. Come look at my Buick, I personally would never buy a car without viewing it, or having a friend check it out. If you are looking for an easy restoration, this might be the car for you--could keep it with the economical V6, or drop in a 401 nailhead, or even a 455 for lots of GO!!! REVISION: See question below, also, I have the replacement U shaped trim piece for the dented LH rear brake lamp trim piece, plus some minor interior trim pieces (arm rests, inside windshield header, rear package shelf trim). I think the fender opening trim (stainless) was an option, but I did buy two of the four pieces (included). The battery is long gone, but I do have one I will use to start the car (not included). REVISION: Thanks for all the interest, I've been asked about the condition of the underbody, floors, frame, etc. I took some more pictures, and replaced the picture of the Florida sticker with one of the floors (last picture) . As I mentioned, the only rust (except surface rust) is the spot on the rear quarter. Floors are solid and rust free, frame and all underbody components look straight and only with surface rust. I have additional pictures--if there is any specific views you would like, contact me with your email address.
