I have up for sale my 1984 ford Tempo Diesel 5 speed. 90000 miles car averages 48 to 67 miles per gallon I am the second owner my grandmother owned it since new and took immaculate care of it. This car is in nearly mint condition and is a very rare car. Must see to appreciate this for what it is and how can you beat 50 miles per gallon plus. Everything is original even the window glass and windshield. The only thing I can see that are not are the starter and alternator. The car is very clean as can be seen in the pictures the bottom of this car is very clean and has no surface rust whatsoever. their are a couple of small dings and the paint on the front grill is peeling slightly. I have taken pictures of every single bit of damage so you can see it. The car has zero mechanical issues with anything and does not leak oil. The only issues that I can find are in the interior and they are the sagging headliner as i have taken pictures of. The digital radio display does not work but the radio works perfect. All guages work except for the fuel guage which bobs around a little more than it should and the temp guage does not work either. This car has a slight crack in the vinyl doorpanel where you pull the drivers door handle. I am just trying to list every single issue with the car. This car is pretty much a brand new car from 1984 other than those few minor things. it needs absolutely zero work other than these few things. Trans and clutch shift and work perfect, shocks and brakes are beyond excellent all doors and windows close like they are from a brand new car glow plugs work fine e brake is good all tires are 70% plus including the fullsize factory spare. Seats have no wear or stains on the upholstery the carpet is in 99% perfect shape cruise control works perfect rear defrost everything ect. Grandma was 85 when she passed away and she has owned the car since new. Car has been garage kept every winter and she tried her best not to drive it in the Seattle rain whenever possible. She had a boat seat and interior sewing buisness so the car was only used to go grocery shoping and pickup materials and go to the library. Oil was changed every 2500 miles. The diesel engine in the car is a Mazda RF 2.0 diesel producing 52 horespower. Car will do interstate highway speeds of 75 miles per hour no problem. This car is a very rare bird i have talked to ford dealerships and diesel enthuisiasts and their is estimated to be less than 250 left in the united states and Canada. And to find one in this condition is even rarer. Parts are available still at auto parts stores in the usa and anything else that may not be their can be found from a guy in Australia that Grandma used to deal with. These cars are very common over their. I just filled the car up this week as i drove it all of last week and it averaged 53 miles per gallon. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country. If the winning bidder flys in they can fly in to the Bellingham Washington airport and i would be happy to assist them in any getting the title temped tagged or whatever so they can make it safely back home. I hate to see this car go but i have to many and i have a Chevy s10 diesel that gets killer mpg so i dont need them all. I come from a family that is into diesel powered cars and trucks.
