Vehicle Detail
psweet Store 1950 Mercury convertible customized in a traditional style. This is an original convertible that was professionally built to be both shown and driven. There is a lot of attention to detail combined with a well-designed chassis to make this a very nice custom. I have personally owned this car for over 7 years and have driven it on trips as far as 1500 miles away with no problems. The car has been well maintained and cared and has the following custom features: · Frenched in headlights, taillights, and intennas, · Professionally chopped 3.5 inches with fully operating original manual top · Louvered original hood · Shaved door handles and trunk handle; original skirts · ’53 DeSoto grill · Accessory Mercury spotlights · Power windows and locks · Cadillac power front seats · Full AirRide Technologies suspension; “C” notched partially boxed stock frame; 4 bar in the rear with panhard bar utilizing new AirRide 8000 series airbags; front AirRide shock integrated airbags. · Camaro subframe professionally grafted into frame with disc brakes · Currie 9” rearend with 3.05 ratio · Stainless custom Rock Valley 16 gal. fuel tank · Rebuilt 327 with camel hump heads (less than 10k miles), new carb and distributor · Turbo 400 transmission · Power steering and brakes · New BeCool aluminum radiator with twin fans · JVC stereo and speakers · New Coker tires on chrome steelie rims · New dual exhaust · Original electric window switches and rear ash trays included in the sale · Nice 1949 Merc dash available for sale with car This car “floats” down the road on a very comfortable suspension, drives straight and is very reliable. I would not hesitate to drive this car across country. The suspension is set up so the car sits low at ride height per AirRide specs, yet has plenty of suspension travel with small steel wheels mounted in the old leaf spring hoops (see pic) to prevent scraping of the rear or gas tank when going up uneven surfaces and driveways. I will help with shipping and international buyers are welcome to bid. This is a NO RESERVE listing, I will sell the car to the highest bidder. Please feel to call me at 415-518-8776 with any questions. Happy to send along more close up pictures of the car upon request.
