1965 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

4 speed manual

I purchased this little gem a few months ago from a woman who put only 1,200 miles on it in the three years since it had been restored. It has 72xxx miles and I was told they are original. She kept it in her garage and maintained it well. She didn’t know any details about the restoration, but it was well done, with many OEM parts used. I have put another 400 miles on it, but arthritis and age force me to pass this great little car along to someone else. Paint, chrome, mechanical, carpet, rubber, running boards, jack points, and glass are excellent. Color is a light bluish-gray. If not VW’s L289, it’s very close. Seats and headliner are white and door panels two-tone, gray and white. Pans and heater boxes excellent. Carpet is high quality dark gray protected by floor mat. Radial tires and battery were new when I got it. Still has original spare and jack and a couple of the tools. Engine number is 8878079. Chassis number is 115348141. These numbers are correct for the year and model and although I can’t prove it, I’d say this is the original engine. Starts instantly, runs and shifts perfectly. Still 6 volts. I put on new brakes, wheel bearings and a new steering wheel. It has a period AM radio. Comes with operator’s manual, fresh oil change, chassis lube, and new plugs. Sold as is.
