Vehicle Detail

One of only 1,600 M Roadsters made in 2001-2002, this car is in excellent shape and is an absolute blast to drive. The car has averaged fewer than 4,000 miles per year since it was delivered to the US. Since buying it two years ago, I have only used it as a weekend car, putting on approximately 2,000 miles during that time. I don't need to sell, but would like to get a four-seater convertible to tote around the family on weekends--my wife, for whatever reason, feels it is prudent to sell this car prior to buying the M3 convertible that I've had my eye on... I am interested in selling the car sooner rather than later, which is why the reserve is very reasonable. Out of fourteen 2001-2002 M Roadsters on Autotrader (I threw out the highest and lowest), the average listing price is $20,945 and the average mileage is 47,994. This car has fewer miles, is in excellent shape, and has a reserve price WELL BELOW the aforementioned average. I also believe in full disclosure. I have bought two cars online, sight unseen, and appreciate getting as much information as possible. Please feel free to email me with any questions, requests for additional pictures, a video, or anything else. The GoodBeautifully shiny, pristine exterior paintNo accidentsClutch has great actionThe car is fast--I've never taken it to the track, but taking a cloverleaf freeway interchange in third gear at 65 and then accelerating to 85 in this car is amazingConvertible top is in great shape--rear window shows a little fogging, but let's be honest, does anyone ever drive these with the top UP?Interior leather is in very good shape, although the outside bolster on the driver side seat shows a little wearIce cold A/C ModificationsI added a passenger side airbag kill switch in order to drive my daughters (one at a time of course) around town, which is required when kids are young and still in carseats The Not-So-GoodFive owners--I'm not sure what to say here, it is what it is. I had Dinan Mountain View do a full inspection of the car and they found minimal issues (one lock cylinder wasn't working, so I had that replaced--the other issues they found are listed below)Original Harman Kardon stereo and sound system--one of the speakers is blown outOne key and alarm FOB (the alarm is finicky--I would just as soon disengage it but haven't had the time to do so)Driver side seatbelt guide is broken--I have heard that this is an endemic problem in M Roadsters, it doesn't affect the safety or effectiveness of the seatbeltThe recline lever on the driver side seat is not working--the electric up/down and forward/backward works fine, but, for the time being, the seat back is stuck in one position. Dinan quoted me $750-$1,000 to fix this, but the other controls allowed me to get in a perfect position, so I haven't done anything to fix this.No maintenance records--again, this is what it is. Other than the work done by Dinan, I haven't had any major services performed (I've only driven it 2,000 miles, after all). For what this car offers, it is VERY reasonably priced. Please feel free to ask any questions. Happy bidding.
