If you’ve always wanted one of the classic Mercedes Benz 560 SL series, here is your opportunity to own the convertible coupe in time for summer. I purchased this vehicle in Florida 10 years ago and then performed an extensive $20,000 mechanical restoration. Restoration focused on chassis, steering, fuel system, brakes, electical, transmission, and other minor issues identified by the comprehensive Mercedes Benz inspection. All work was performed by a Mercedes Benz dealer in Calgary and all original invoices for repairs are available for confirmation of work performed. The vehicle has never been exposed to winter conditions and has always been garage stored. The Florida sun had caused some paint fading, so the paint is also new. As can be verified in the Carfax report the vehicle is accident free and the restoration of the paint was solely for cosmetic purposes. Mercedes made one of the best drivetrains at the time this car was produced. It is powered by the 5.6 litre fuel injected V8 engine. One big reason the engine lasts so long is that an oil change on this car requires 8.0 litres of oil! That is more than twice as much as on newer cars. Recognize that the difference between this car and others of the same year with the same mileage is that it has already undergone an extensive mechanical restoration. Even cars with lower mileage still have parts with the same mileage. I have put less than 2000 miles on the vehicle since the restoration was performed. Runs and handles as new. The vehicle comes with an windscreen that greatly reduces wind noise inside the vehicle and also a tonneau cover that allows you to keep the interior out of the sun and zips closed when the vehicle is parked for added security. Some minor leather seat scuffs but otherwise interior is clean with new carpets and new burlwood with extra burlwood available to replace all remaining interior wood pieces.
