In 1959 at the London Motor Show Bentley introduced their first all-alloy V8 engine. It was housed in the Bentley S2. This new powerplant offered about 200 bhp due to its lightweight construction. It also offered tremendous performance in comparison to the 4.8-liter six-cylinder engine it replaced.
This particular car is in great running and driving condition with no known mechanical issues. Turnkey and ready to go for the summer, 4 speed automatic with working AC. This car has been under the same ownership for the past 35 years! Only reason it’s being sold is to free up some space. The tires are new and in good condition and the body is straight down the side with no waves or dings. The paint shines good and was redone about 10 years ago along with re-chroming of the bumpers and grill. You will also see at that time new carpets installed and new front seat leather. Interior is in good condition and all there. This car has had less than 100 miles put on it per year for the past 35 years and I personally have been around for 17 of those years as owned by a friend. You have an updated exhaust system, brakes and tires within the past 5 years. The paint, chrome, and front seat also done within the past 10 years. All the bugs seem to be worked out on this one. She starts up every year with no issues after sleeping for 5 months in the winter and I have been there for it each year when coming out of storage. Two tone gray with silver looks great, to the best of the owners knowledge these are original miles on the car.
The few issues found that you will see in the pictures and mentioned in the videos. Lower carpet on all door panels need re-doing. You have some chipping on the front left fender and a small outward ding on the left side of the trunk lid. You have a 4 inch scratch on the right driver’s door not below the clear so you can polish it out, see pictures and video. Front left hubcap has chrome peeling off. You have one spot of patch work on the inner rocker below the driver’s rear door you can see in video and pictures. Once again mechanically this car seems really good. The issues are cosmetic and with a little TLC this car could be brought back with minimal investment. Based on the overall condition would say this is a driver that needs a little TLC but for sure could hit the show circuit as is. We have taken into account some of the issues and priced the car accordingly, for the money a lot of car.
