1969 factory convertible bug. This bug was bought in Germany through the tourist delivery program. You picked up your car in Germany and drove around Europe for the summer and then VW would ship your car to you in the States. The original service record book shows the different VW dealers in Europe who serviced the car during those first weeks. Body is in decent shape with some dents in the fenders. Frame rails and rear luggage area have some rust. The luggage area has been fiber-glassed and is solid. I have an original section from another vert bug that I will include in case you want to replace it. The frame rails can be patched as they are only rusty on the bottoms. The body has no flex and the doors stay closed. The frame is in good shape, floors are solid but the rear sections have also been repaired with fiberglass. Great as is or get new rear sections. Top needs new cover and headliner but the frame is in good shape. Open and closes well. Glass is original and in good shape, windshield was replaced with new a few years ago. One key works both doors and the ignition. Door locks work well. Electrical is in good shape, lights all work except for the dome light which is missing. Horn and radio are not currently working. Transmission is four speed and works in all gears. Clutch is strong and works great. Engine is 1600 single port. Unknown miles but still runs well.
