Here is a super rare 1985 Mercedes 500SL. Undoubtedly the rarest, most powerful and fastest of the 107 Mercedes line. They only built 11,000 of these cars compared to 46,000 of the 560 SL's. This car was originally purchased in Germany and brought over here. While Americans had to make due with a 160hp 380SL Europeans were blessed with the top of the line 245hp. 500SL. This car runs great. The engine is tight, smooth and quick. The transmission is tight and shifts perfectly. The exhaust is fairly new. This car has the dual temperation manual ac of the European models. Its finished in the highly desirable Astral Silver with Blue MB tex. This car has a lot of potential but needs a bit of work. The body and interior are in decent shape. The airconditioning has a leak. It only stays charged about a week, works fine and then the freon leaks out. There is some play in the steering wheel. The tires are dry rotted. The top needs to be replaced. This car is 27 years old. It is not a new car. For someone who knows these cars this one is a gem.
