What you are bidding on is a white 2002 Subaru Forester S in "good/fair condition." We're selling this for a few reasons: 1) It was my wife's car & I've been driving it for four years which is three years longer than I planned...I've always been a Jeep person, 2) a Jeep Grand Cherokee came into our lives that I couldn't resist, & 3) this Forester has developed the head gasket problem that many Subarus of this vintage do (around 140,000 miles). The check engine light is on & it will need head gasket service. This Forester is VERY GOOD ON GAS & very comfortable inside with leather heated seats, & a huge sunroof. We bought this car used at 70,000 miles & it has been very dependable serving us very well over the years!! Using a grading system, cosmetically, I'd give it a "B" & mechanically, I'd currently give it a "C-". It comes from smoke-free owners and the car's service maintenance has been kept up. Probably due to the manufacturing quality, the driveability of this car does not seemed to be phased in the least by the head gasket problem. Temperature is good...I have not hesitated in the least to drive it anywhere over the last 5,000 miles. The brakes & muffler are good...tires are decent. The clock in the overhead console doesn't function & the passenger's side fog lamp does not either (it was a snow pile...not a hard impact that broke it...the bumper is unharmed). There is rust underneath at the rear-end passenger's side sub-frame that will need attention sooner rather than later. There are a few minor dings in the driver's side rear door. The car will come with the owner's manual & a summary of the work performed over the years according to mileage. The Kelley Blue Book value is currently between $5100 & $6000 but considering the above information it is priced for much less. A deposit of $500 within 48 hours is required at the successful completion of this auction as well as full payment prior to transfer of ownership. We prefer Paypal. It is up to the buyer to arrange pickup but be assured that we'll do our best to make it easy. Most likely, we'd be willing to drive in a 50 to 100 mile radius to meet up if necessary.
