1970 Saab Sonett III Super cool , Rare Swedish built car from the early 70s Last styling before ending production, the Swedish let the Sonett III go out with a bang ! The Sonett III was originally powered by a european Ford V4 motor and 4 spd trans. Fiberglass body made for a light-weight performance car to compete with the others from that Era. This car hasnt run in over 15 yrs and been sitting in a barn here in Tucson many yrs. Its always been here in Tucson therefore its prob one of the most rust free Sonetts youll find anywhere. This car would be a great candidate for an EV conversion or motor swap project. If not, just rebuild the original 4 cyl thats in it. The motor hasnt run for 20 yrs and wont turn over by hand, I Put some marvel down each cylinder a few weeks ago, so maybe it will loosen up over time. The potential this car has is only limited to your imagination. No matter how you restore it, youd have such a great ride and probably the only one at the next cruise nite or car show within a few hundred miles around. The factory color reminds me of Fords Grabber Blue.The simulated hood scoop reminiscent of Fords Shaker scoop from the same era. This car is about 80% complete and 90% all original. Great stuff like front large disc brakes, functional roll bar are cool. The body is in really nice shape for its age. No sign of any previous major damage, while the interior has had alot of sun damage from the AZ sun over the years. All the steel and floors are VERY SOLID / Gauges in tact and look nice / Manual headlights functional and a cool design. I can only imagine how much fun these cars are to driveand attention they get. The front facia has large round pockets for installing large driving or aftermarket headlights behind the grill too (pretty cool design from the factory) 10,219 Chassis 97 Saab Sonett IIs and IIIs were built thats not alot of cars, and probably not alot left. LOTS OF PICS, it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain. Check out All the pics and then look for more info AFTER the pics etc. There are over 90, make sure you use the schroll bar on the side to see them all. Pass side door window is plexi, but it comes with a good glass window not installed. I have no keys for the car. Parts suppliers are available for doing restoration on these cars too, making things easier for whoever buys it. These cars dont come along very often this rust free and with a low reserve such as ours, so dont miss out ! The car comes with a small box of extra parts shown in the pics including the front bumper lip / spoiler too. Rear window attachments are a little loose too.
