Vehicle Detail
This car has been in storage since the fall of 1994. At that point in time I had two children 9 and they took a priority in my life, now those children are in college and I lost interest in cars and this is the reason I am selling it . 1979 trans am, 427 big block Chevrolet engine. With many extras. This car has been in storage since the fall of 1994 and has not been uncovered until this year except to make sure there is oil in the cylinders and to crank the engine over at least one revolution. This has been done at least twice per year. The car has approximately 80,000 miles and has never been driven in the snow. This is a solid rust free car. Some of the cars features, T tops, vinyl interior, upholstery is in very nice condition, line lock, for locking the front brakes on only to warm-up the back tires. There is really no need for this as the engine has more than enough Power to warm-up the back tires. Transmission, turbo hydro-400, 4500 stall, trans brake, all clutch packs have been milled to accept additional clutch plates, reverse shift pattern, PRN123 no chance of missing a gear. Transmission cooling pan, and transmission cooling radiator. Driveshaft loop. 427 Chevrolet engine , the original block had a crack and has been replaced. Everything has been bounced internally and I've had this engine over 7000 RPMs drag racing. Open chamber large part cast-iron cylinder heads. Camshaft I don't remember exactly but is approximately .630 LIFT and 320° duration. Solid lifters. Tunnel ram intake manifold, two Holley 465 cfm Tunnel ram matched carburetors, chemical secondaries, center float bowls. Nitrous oxide cheater system. I have all the jets as well. Just a quick note, I've only uses nitrous system twice at the lowest horsepower rating, the tank is full as well. Aluminum water pump, Mallory distributor. High compression forged aluminum pistons. This engine has less, much less than 1000 miles. Right now this car is open headers. The differential that is in the car right now is your original 10 bolt 3.08 gears. I had a 12 bolt differential in the car the last year was driven and I broken a axle. I have a brand-new 35 spline Ford 9 inch nodular differential with the Detroit locker include. I purchased this brand-new with axles and it was never installed. I have many extras with this car as well. I have the original wheels and aluminum rims, a set of factory 8 inch aluminum rims and tires, plus a set of centerline 28 inch tall and 11 inch wide drag racing slicks that has only been used no more than 12 times, along with a set of centerline front rims and tires and I think they are 4 1/2 inch wide rims. Many of the original components taken off this car is included, too many items to list. I have the original hood with the Trans Am bird, I also have a second formula hood, and the original Pontiac engine. Everything related to this car goes with the car. This car has heavy duty frame connectors, this was needed so the car would not twist when going down the quarter-mile. This car ran 11.6 seconds at 118 mi./h. With a little bit of fine-tuning I'm quite certain it will run in the high tens. This car has two Holley fuel pumps, one for the nitrous oxide system, one to supply fuel to the engine. This car has power brakes, the engine does not create enough vacuum to operate the vacuum booster. An additional vacuum pump was added supply the vacuum for the booster. Like I mentioned before this car has been in storage since 1994, all brake component should be checked before driving. I started this car up for the first time since 1994, it fired up immediately after priming the oil, replacing the oil and filter, cleaned the spark plugs. For whatever reason I was unable to find a couple of components, the upper alternator bracket was taken off several years ago, and the original fan shroud is missing. But as I mentioned before I have many of the original components taken off the car. This car should be picked up by the trailer and taken to its new home . It can be very easily driven onto the trailer There is a $100. down payment, nonrefundable Reserve is $7000.00 Will consider offers. 815 291 4384 john Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
