Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1981 Volkswagon Rabbit. It has over 300,000 miles. I have had this car for a year and a half. It was an everyday car. In November 2011, I parked it and it was working fine, and two weeks later I wanted to use it and would not ignite. The battery was loaded and has 1/4 a gallon of diesel . I attempted to ignite it about 4 or 5 times then I decided to give up. From November until now, it has not been touched. Because I do not want to spend money, I have not taken the workshop. It is a 5-speed car. It performs smooth and effective speed changes. The clutch still has much life. The only thing I have noticed is that the first minute after being ignited this car releases more smoke than I believed was ordinary. After 2 minutes, the smoke disappears. I asked the mechanic and he said that it is common for this type of car year. It is a car that was being driven about 50 miles a day and you can spend 45 or 55 miles per gallon. Everything works except for the right back door. It can be opened from the inside but does not from outside. It has three original seats but only the driver's seat is broken. The passenger's side windshield has a crack but does not affect the driver's visibility. In the trunk, the shock absorber that stops the door does not work. The car has rust above the wheels and on the driver's side floor there is a small hole. These are things that if someone knows about cars, they can be easily fixed . A trim molding that goes out on the driver's door and rear door is lost. Believe it or not, everything is original except the defects mentioned. I hope I did not lose any details. Honestly the car runs very well, but the reason for failing to ignite is unknown. I just don't want to spend more money on this car. If you have any questions, please do not forget to ask! Good luck and happy bidding!
