Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX with 4.6-liter V8 engine. I am the original owner of this vehicle. It has 80,860 miles. The exterior color is Pacific Green metallic and the interior color is medium graphite (gray). The seats are cloth. I ordered this car back in December of 1995 so that I could choose the factory options I wanted. Some of the options included are: anti-lock 4 wheel disc brakes, power moonroof, keyless entry, anti-theft system, AM/FM stereo CD player with power antenna (which works fine), sport suspension with 16” factory alloy wheels, Traction-Lok rear axle (limited slip), rear window defroster, and light group. The air conditioner is what Ford called electronic semi-automatic temperature control air conditioning. It is not the manual A/C. This T-Bird does not have electonic traction assist because in 1996, you could either have traction assist or Traction-Lok, but not both together. I chose the Traction-Lok. This car originally cost $21,835. The vehicle came with a 6-way power driver's seat. For 1996, the passenger’s power seat was not available like it had been the year before, so I added a passenger’s 6-way power seat control using all Ford parts. I also added a compass/auto dimming inside rear view mirror from the Ford Accessory catalog. In 1996, the center console had an ashtray, but since I’m not a smoker, I changed the original console top to a 1997 T-Bird console which had twin cup holders instead. I will include the original inside rear view mirror and the 1996 original console piece with the sale of this vehicle. The car also has on it a set of Ford Accessory splash guards and a Ford Accessory cargo net in the trunk. In addition, there is a set of four McGard wheel locks along with the key. I also had the car professionally pinstriped with gray and purple paint which looks very sharp against the vehicle’s Pacific Green metallic exterior color. You can see the pinstriping in some of the photos. The car has new genuine Ford 4-wheel rotors, calipers, and brake pads. New Classic Tube stainless steel brake lines were added. All four tires are Goodyear Eagle RS-A P225/60R touring tires and have less than 460 miles on them. The original plastic intake manifold on 4.6-liter V8 engines was notorious for cracking. The engine in this T-Bird has had the intake manifold replaced with the improved design at a Ford dealer. The Thunderbird has been stored in my home garage for the last few years. I'm selling the car in order to free up some garage space. To the best of my knowledge, everything on this car is in good working condition except the air conditioner. However, there are no guarantees. The air conditioner was working when the car was first stored in my garage. It probably just needs to be recharged. All of the gauges work. The power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, and the radio also work. The cloth seats have a nice pattern to them, and there are no rips or tears. The interior is super clean and the car has never been smoked in. The moonroof works great and does not leak. The engine runs smooth and the transmission shifts well. The vehicle has a clean title and has never had any liens. This T-Bird does have some minor rust on it because it originally was a daily driver. The rust is basically surface rust underneath the car on the floor pans. There is also some surface rust on the bottom of each door and in the engine compartment. There are no rust holes in any of the body sheet metal. The right front (passenger side) fender has a small dent where a tree branch fell on it during a wind storm (see photo #23). The branch also left three 3-inch long scratch marks on the hood which I touched up with a brush (see photo #24). There are other little stone chips that have also been touched up. The vehicle had one minor accident when another vehicle backed out of a parking space and hit the T-Bird’s left rear (driver side) quarter panel. I insisted that an entire genuine Ford sheet metal panel be installed because I did not want the dent just filled with bondo. The collision shop did an excellent job and you cannot tell that it was ever repaired. I have always been very meticulous about all of my vehicles. I always insist on genuine OEM parts and make sure the vehicles are well maintained. It was no different with this T-Bird. For its age, this vehicle is in good condition and has low mileage. However, this is a used car and should not be expected to be in brand new condition. I am a private seller, not a dealer, and there are no warranties or guarantees, expressed written or implied. This vehicle is being sold "as is" and "where is." I shall not be responsible for any errors in the description. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. I assume no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any written or oral statements about the vehicle. Please look carefully at the photos and thoroughly research the car before bidding on it. Once you have won the auction, you have bought the car and there is no return. If you have any questions, please contact me through Ebay. If you are the winning bidder, I require a deposit of $500.00 through Paypal within 24 hours of auction close. Full payment will be required within 7 days of auction close. I will only accept cash in person or a certified bank check. The buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping. The vehicle is located outside of Buffalo, New York. All sales tax, registration, license fees, and insurance are the buyer's responsibility. The winning bidder should contact me through Ebay regarding payment and pickup information. **Please Note: I also have two extra (right and left) 16" factory alloy rims that match the rims on the Thunderbird. The wheels are mounted with a set of Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice snow tires in a size P225/60R16 that match the size of the tires that are currently (and were originally) on the car. The tires have plenty of tread left on them and the rims are in excellent condition. If the winning bidder is interested in these rims and snow tires, I would sell them together for $200.00. They are not included in the price of the car.
