Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1982 Porsche 928S + parts. The car was my daily driver 10 years ago, it has sat indoors ever since. ( the worst thing for these cars). It has 95,000 miles(94,717)on it and it last ran in 2010. I tried starting it, but the battery is dead, it barely cranked while getting a jump. It needs paint and some interior pcs.I would rate the interior condition as a 1-2 out of 10. It needs the dash redone, the drivers seat redone, and alot of little odds and ends.Paint is about a 1-2 out of 10. NO major body work required.I was planning on restoring it but other things took center stage. This would be a good parts car, or good project for a 928 fan. The engine is good- minimal leaks(that I know of), Timing belt was done in 2002 and I haven't ran the car much since(maybe 2000 miles) The transmission is a 5 speed and is in good shape, the clutch is in ok shape but the throw-out bearing tends to squeak when the car idles for a bit. Windshield is cracked, electrics are average(some things work, some don't).What you get with the car: -A NEW IN BOX SACHS CLUTCH KIT, several distributor parts, a torque tube, 8 used injectors, fuel rails, misc fuel injection parts, some interior pcs, used ignition switch, used catalytic converter(the car currently has an off road y-pipe installed) k&n filter(installed). I will NOT sell these pars individually!!I have more photos and I will take more of specific parts(numbers) or pieces at your request. Please check out more photos at: http://s1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii555/tthewett/I CANNOT NOT SHIP THE CAR(I do not have a trailer). I can help with loading on to a trailer, here at my home. (no charge) I don't live out in the sticks, I live in Billings Montana 59102, and a tractor trailer could easily navigate my neighborhood. Reserve price has been lowered and is now set at $1,600. On Apr-25-12 at 16:07:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I thought I'd add some more information about this car: The YELLOW PAINT IS NOT AN ORIGINAL COLOR. According to the door paint code # 474 the ORIGINAL COLOR was a special order called "ROSEWOOD METALLIC". The car HAS RAN BEFORE and the engine DOES turn over, and it DOES have SPARK. The 928 does have AC, but its r12,and has NOT BEEN CONVERTED TO R134, I have never tried to charge or run the AC system. The heater/ blower fan worked fine when I drove this car as a daily driver. Here is an awesome site talking about the history of the PORSCHE 928: http://jenniskens.livedsl.nl/Evolution/Porsche_928%20history.htm On Apr-27-12 at 09:15:38 PDT, seller added the following information: The option code sticker is missing(the one in the back of the car) so I'm going to do my best to list the ones that the car has/had:Leather seats, Power seats, Power steering, AC, Front (cracked)and rear spoilers, bilstien shocks, I think this car has what they called the competition package because it has front and rear spoilers and no body/trim moldings, but I am unable to confirm this. On Thursday,I tried just for kicks to start the old shark up, I used a fresh battery out another vehicle here, The shark did NOT start, but it did crank very strongly. The car felt as if it was on the edge of starting. I could hear the fuel pump relay click about 1 second after I stop cranking. I felt the fuel pump and it did feel warm. I noticed that the small section of fuel line that runs between the fuel pump and fuel filter may be pinched. I also opened up a valve on the fuel rail to see if I had any pressure up at the front of the car and I did not have any. So my guess is that little line is pinched or the pump is bad. I have had many questions about this cars drive-ability, since I can't start it, it can't be driven. If I am able to start it, I would still highly advise against driving this car any distance right now as it does need to be gone through. This car would be a good car for someone who knows 928s, or has a few of them to Frankenstein in to one nice car.
