Vehicle Detail
My wife and kids were visiting her aunt in Marysville, California last fall. While there, they went down to their friends home which they have been neighbors with for 35 years to see what was selling at their garage sale. My son was excited to find the 1978 Cutlass Supreme Brougham, with less than 41,000 original miles, was a one owner car!!! It belonged to the gentleman's mother who is now in her 90's and is too old to drive. She lived in the city and drove the car only short distances a few times a week. She took very good care of the car but it does have normal wear for it's age. The car runs, drives and rides very well! The actual mileage is 40,825 original miles. The new title states exempt under mileage because we didn't know that we would need the signature from her on the paper work until we were at the BMV here in Indiana. We can probably contact her for the signature if this is an issue. It has a 260 V8 engine and automatic transmission. The 1/4 Landau top is in excellent condition and original. Interior is very clean. It has always been kept garaged. We were able to keep a voided copy of the original pink slip issued to her on March 31, 1978. We also have a copy of the letter from Wells Fargo Bank releasing the pink slip to her when the car loan was paid in full on March 24, 1982. My son has only put approximately 200 miles on this car since he purchased it. He fell in love with the car and bought it hoping that he would be able to keep it for a long time, appreciating its beauty and the value it will continue to bring when kept in good condition. He has since realized that he needs to be more practical at this time in his life and use the money for college (and give me my garage back). The only known modification to it's original condition is the addition of a catalytic converter in order to pass California emissions testing. Their is a small dent/blemish on the drivers side rear quarter panel that is visible. When you stand at an angle and the light shines just right you can see it. There is a picture of it in the gallery. The seals around the windows show signs of dry rot and should be replaced. There are a few minor dings where the paint is chipped and faded. For the age of this vehicle you won't find a cleaner car in original condition. There is no rust or bondo anywhere on this vehicle. Car shows no signs of fluid leaks as it has been in my garage since purchased. Tires are in good condition showing approximately 75% tread. Front seat is 60/40 split and all interior has no stains or significant wear. This car is sold as is with no warranty. Thanks for looking and feel free to email with any further questions you may have. On Apr-24-12 at 18:37:33 PDT, seller added the following information: ****Note****Just was in the garage looking the car over and there is a small fluid leak on my garage floor.(Contrary to what is stated in the listing) Appears to be transmission fluid and there are signs of fluid on the transmission pan. Leak is small and I am not sure where it originates from. Just wanted to make sure this listing is accurate. I was unaware of this at the time of listing. On Apr-27-12 at 05:42:37 PDT, seller added the following information: ***** Additional Note***** An Ebay community member has pointed out that this may not be a Brougham like we were told. With further research, I have found that Brougham refers to a particular body style, but also to a trim package. I am unable to verify that this car has a trim package known as Brougham; however it is Brougham body style.
