Vehicle Detail

Package 0, 5 speed manual, campanella white, beige leatherette. Car is just over 151,000 miles. I am the original owner, I bought the car new in October 2005. Title is clear of lien and never been wrecked. I've done all my own maintenance and I will try to describe the car best I can. Some of the extras the car has: Weathertech floor liners front and rear. (Carpet underneath is excellent as a result.) I have the factory carpeted mats but they're at my parents' house. If you want them, be sure to let me know and I'll try to get them. The trunk liner is a no name but pretty good quality and very lightweight. Serves its purpose well. Under the hood I have a Zerostart/Frostheater installed as well as PSI Powerbox. The Powerbox really gave it some pep and upped the mileage a couple MPG. I also have an inline fuel prefilter mod (Mercedes coarse fuel filter) and Filterminder on the airbox. Also have a homemade crankcase filter (traps a lot of moisture and sludge before it goes into the intake). It consists of an agricultural water separator with a coarse filter media inside. The prefilter and crankcase filter as well as the Powerbox can be removed and returned to factory very easily. The car also has paint protection film on the hood, fenders, and side view mirrors. I did the install and did pretty good but the film is getting some age on it. It still functions perfect so I'm just going to leave it on and you can decide on it. The car has 20% tint all the way around (no windshield strip though). It also has 16" Konig aftermarket wheels. They're just some cheapies that are getting some road wear. I still have the factory 2 tone Biolines, lug bolts, and covers. They will go with the car if you want them. They too have road wear and could use a refinish. The tires are about 50% but they have 80K miles on them and are suffering structurally. The tread is going to outlive the carcass I think. They're 205/55/16 Michelin Hydroedges and have been GREAT tires.Problems: scratch above door handle on passenger side rear door. About 2" long, touched up. Front grille took a chunk of asphalt one day and there's slight damage to the VW logo, scratching on the chrome grille, and cracked the radiator support up top. It wedged under the hood but surprisingly did not damage the hood. This damage is very minor and almost not noticeable. There is slight wear on the left side of the driver seat where the leatherette is starting to separate. It's about 5" long. The rear vents have one little piece missing inside and the adjustment on one side doesn't have any resistance up and down. I have a brand new OEM vent to include. The trunk release in the door does not work and I could not figure out why. The key and remote opens it fine so I knew the solenoid is ok. A little help from a local helped me discover that is in fact the latch assembly that causes this issue. (Apparently the microswitch and the actuator are separate which is why the remote still worked.) Car has usual wear for one of this mileage, small rock chips, slight hazing on the chrome window trim, etc. However overall nice looking car when it's clean. I'd give it a 7/10. I'm very anal.Maintenance summary: Replaced fuel temperature sensor at ~20K miles. Changed trans oil at 50K miles. Replaced DMF clutch with 14# SMF and VR6 clutch at 100K miles. A little chatter noise but smooth as silk. Also replaced timing belt at 100K miles with a Gates belt and metal water pump, included tensioner and hardware. (You can have the crank lock tool I did this with so you can do the 200K mile belt.) Replaced rear brakes with Zimmerman rotors and I believe Mintex pads at 118K miles. Front brakes are factory! They look to have maybe just under 1/2 life left. New Rayovac battery (made in USA) in May of 2011. BRAND NEW ARE THE FOLLOWING: driver door harness and fuel/trunk switches. I have changed the oil every 15K (per used oil analysis) with Mobil 1 TDT since 70K miles (most recently at 145K). Fuel filter about every 15K, most recently about 140K. I flushed the brakes about 3 years ago. I did air filter when I did the TB/clutch but really it doesn't get dirty at all with that snow screen on there--serves as a great prefilter. I'm probably behind on the cabin filter though. Also extra intermediate driver door harness and fuel/trunk switches included. Both remotes and valet keys, original owner's manual included. New fuel filter for your first change! The full engine cover IS included (not pictured).
