Vehicle Detail
This is a 1998 GMC Safari SLX with 83,101 miles. It's the extended version of the Safari. As you can see in the pictures the truck is pretty much mint and has been well taken care of. I used it to shuttle my kid around and that is pretty much it. This is a Florida truck that has no rust whatsoever, no salt damage or corrosion. The undercarriage which is based on a GMC Sierra 1500 is nice and healthy. The truck was not used for work and the pictures tell the story, I like to be clean and neat, I don't like dust so I never compromised the truck's interior so inside is super clean and I recently had it completely detailed that is, shampooed the interior and compounded-simonized/waxed outside. The truck runs strong and has the indestructible "VORTEC 4300 V6 Engine" with 190 HP and 250 lb torque. I keep up with the maintenance and I change the oil regularly. I just put brand new Firestone FR380 tires all around so tires are new. I have a small pop up so I wired it for hitch lights with a flat four pin connector and I installed a 2 inch Reese hitch receiver and the truck pulls the small pop up that weighs 1,344 lbs with no problem. The truck is rated @ 5,500 lbs towing capacity. There are no leaks of any kind and the undercarriage is strong and healthy. I am the second owner and I purchased this truck in Florida from a dealer on a trade in from the original owner and I drove it to NY so the truck has no rust or salt damage or corrosion. Brakes have been done recently, new discs and shoes in the front. rear brakes are still good. Power door locks and windows, power mirrors, rear a/c, side panel pop out windows, arm rests in all seats, dome and reading lights, second row bench seat is removable. When I bought the truck it did not have a third row of seats because this is the 5 passenger model, however the anchor pins are on the floor so you can install a third seat yourself if you want to. The van has the better Dutch doors which are better for field of view to the rear and more practical for unloading whatever you need to get to. Some of the features are manual lumbar support, two way adjustable reclining front bucket seats, removable rear bench seat, front passenger air bags, anti lock brakes, rear power outlet, cruise control, map lights, reading lights, power Dutch door lock, rear window wiper, third brake light, am/fm stereo receiver, tinted windows all around, 2" towing package brand new tires, alloy rims, Continental Accessories running boards, etc, etc. The truck is my daily driver and I will continue to drive it until it sells so mileage will be a little higher upon delivery. The are some details that need to be taken care of, Now the disclosure: 1.- The front window motors are shot on the driver and the passenger side. The driver side is completely dead and the passenger side is way too slow on the return up so it also needs to be replaced. This is a known documented issue with these trucks. It never bothered me because I drive it very little around town so I haven't changed them. That will be up to you. Motors are inexpensive here on eBay and they go for around $25 each. 2.- There is a cut vacuum tube that I showed on one of the pictures so now the a/c and heater are stuck on the default defroster vent position regardless of the selection made on the knob. I diagnosed the problem however I won't be changing the little vacuum tube. That will be up to you. The tube can be obtained at the auto part store, completely inexpensive repair. 3.- The windshield wiper/washer switch is temperamental. It always works, but sometimes and not often, it just rests on the windshield on the up swing when on intermittent. Doesn't bother me and I drive with mi kid so it's up to you to figure out if you can live with it. 4.- Somebody hit the truck with a shopping cart while I was shopping and made a shallow dent by the fuel cap. I took pictures, many pictures but it's not obvious or visible and if I didn't tell you probably wouldn't know is there. The paint was not scratched thanks to those rubber tips the put on shopping carts however for disclosure's sake I'm mentioning it. Maybe Dent-X or something else will work but again, it never bothered me so I lived with it. Other than that the only flaws on the paint are a few nicks on the rear of the bumper from normal wear. 5.- The interior is in excellent condition with the exception of two spots on the rear cargo area, one brown stain from a rusted sinker when I went fishing and I forgot it, and a spot of clorox when I had a spill. and please don't give any mind to the dark looking spots on the floor in the front because they look stained in the pictures but they are not and the seats and all the upholstery in general is in excellent shape and hasn't been all used up and worn like many other fabric interiors featured here on the site. In general, the truck runs strong, it looks mint in and out and you can use it for work and play.Tittle is clean and in hand and the truck has never been involved in any accidents. Included: Manual and two keys, jack, tire wrench and spare tire. Because of it's age, the truck is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Below I posted lots of pictures and the very last one is a video clip. Please click once to enlarge, then click again for an even bigger picture. Thanks for looking.
