Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1970 Triumph GT6+ / Mk 2 with just 71500 miles on the original drivetrain. I bought this car off of the previous owner , who had it in dry storage for the past 15 years. Many believe this is the best of all 3 GT6 models. It has the most sophisticated "Rotoflex" suspension system, the updated body with the improved engine ventilation and as important, the much needed improved passenger compartment ventilation system, but still the classic look. On top of that it was the shortest production run of all 3 models, because it proved to be to expensive in production, so this is the model run with fewest cars built. This makes it the most sought after and most desirable version to have! How can you better best handling, best looks and practicvality and the rarest, most sought after model? The GT6+ spent most of its (short) life in the Palm Springs area: first registered on June 05 1971 and expiration date on the title was December 08 1978, so it was only 7 years on the road. The reason for that might be a little dent in the frame at the front left ower control arm mounting location. Since the Triumph enthusiasts recomand to reinforce all the suspension mounting points according to the Triumph competition manual, this is an easy repair. Besides a rusted battery box, there is absolutly no rust to be found on the whole frame and body. There is a small dent below the right rear marker light, other then that, there is no other damage to the bode or frame as well, which will make it a easy restoration. Paint code 17, trim code 33 The motor runs nice and smooth (with gas out of a canister), the transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears, but I could not drive it on the road since the hydraulics (clutch and brakes) are not in working order. On Apr-20-12 at 23:52:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Matt, a local enthusiast, just had a look at the GT6+ and made me aware of the fact, that the small dent is not on the right side, it's below the left rear marker light. Other then that, he confirmed that the GT6+ is really very clean. Thanks Matt
