One owner, California purchased and garaged Honda model HF (high fuel); the Prius of the '80s. Great gas mileage; designed for such. Not modified; all stock. Kept car loved by wife but can no longer drive because it is stick. Have owned a '72 Datsun for over 31 years, can't part with it nor our Accord so why the sell. Driven 7,000 miles in last seven years. Manufacturers scheduled maintanence by independent Honda garage besides new windshield at 50,000 mi., Yr. 1990, Parts and labor $250. Factory pack paint, 2004, $3200 and replaced rear hood struts, $100. Major maintanence included: replace outer axle boots 82,000 mi, 1994, $175. Replace wheel cyclinders 120,000 mi, 1999, $225. Replace timing belt twice at 60 then 120,000 mi; last one, 1999, $250. Repack and reboot both drive shafts, 131,000 mi, 2002, $370. Replace front and rear wheel bearings and struts, 146,000, 2004, $1,427. Radiator replaced, 148,000, 2005, $250. Replace ignitor, 148,000, 2006, $400. New battery, 150,000, 2011. Replace brake booster and master cyclinder, replace clutch, front brake pads, machine rotors, replace calipers, 151,000 mi, 2011, $1,815. Replace carb mount, remove air mixture screw and blow out; replace O-rings on solenoids, 151,00 mi, 2011, $530. Rebuild carb, 2011, 152,000 mi, $900. $3,300 in repairs just in last year. Thus mechanically sound; no oil leaks or unusal sounds. Few hundred on tires. Only deficiencies to appearance is small chips to front grill and small, left, rear side chip to bottom of bumper (see photo). Wind pushed driver door when open damaging checker but repaired. Car finish is as colorful and smooth as when it was new. Took to Honda dealer last month with comment from service manager: "Haven't seen one in this conditon in decades". Slighly blue tinted windows. No interior deficiencies. Standard radio and cassette. Everything works. On Apr-11-12 at 20:24:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Addendum: This car is a Honda CRX HF (High fuel) vehicle with no "bells or whistles" Therefore it was not designed with AC, power windows, door locks, seats, brakes and steering. Also, let me clarify another point relating to ownership. All the mechanical repairs and appearance upgrades were performed by the original owner. I purchased it in 02/2012 and have put approximately 150 miles on the car. We wanted to keep it by selling our other gas saver, a '72 Datsun we've owned for 31 years. After putting some money into on upgrades, it runs so well couldn't part with it. So we were forced to sell the Honda. Its been sitting waiting for a new owner. I therefore feel I'm selling the car for the original purchaser. Reportedly no accidents have been incurred by this vehicle. On Apr-12-12 at 16:54:09 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDENDUM: For those of you inquirying about gas mileage. Today (Thurs, 04/12/12) drove city miles only (no freeway or off road) testing for MPG. Here is the steps taken to arrrive at the figure noted. Filled the tank until the pump automatically shut off or made the clunk sound; not topping it off. Then made various stops around the Orange County area covering just under 30 miles. In the process, returned to the same station filled tank until the automatic pump shut off occurred. We used .663 gallons and traveled 27.3 miles which comes out to 41 mpg. Hope that helps.
