Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1963 Convertible Ford Falcon Futura, two door, two speed automatic straight six. I purchased this vehicle in 2007 as a birthday gift for my wife with the intention of fully restoring it. Like many others........I never got around to it. However, my wife has enjoyed driving it on Sundays as is. The vehicle was restored at some point, prior to my purchase, but wasn't done to my liking and is still in need of some freshening up. It runs good and everything works on it, electric top, radio, headlights, turn signals, brake lights, and after market horn button under the dash. The odometer is operational and reads 81,530, but I can not confirm if that is accurate. The two speed automatic transmission shifts properly, but is sloppy at the column, and it leaks fluid from the pan gasket. It has never slipped out of gear. The straight six runs good and the carburetor was rebuilt about a year ago. The master cylinder was replaced a couple of years ago with fresh lines, however, the wheel cylinders will need to be rebuilt or replaced. The brakes work but recently it started pulling to the right and you have to apply a good amount of pressure to get it to stop. The engine also leaks oil from the pan gasket/plug. The body is straight but there are a couple of dings and a crack above the passenger side rear wheel. Also, there are small rust spots around the exterior and some severe rust through the floor pans, including part of the frame toward the rear on both sides (pictured below) . The previous owner coated the undercarriage but there is still rust through. The paint still shines with a coat of wax but there are chips and runs. The trim is all there and so is the glass. The windshield has a small chip in the top corner on the passenger side and the trim, channels and window liners need to be replaced. The exterior trim will need to be re-chromed and painted to your liking. Also, the trim on the driver's side door has been creased and will need to be restored or replaced. The seat covers, dash pad, and carpet are decent and in good repair. The interior paint along with the chrome on the handles need to be freshened up, but all the handles and knobs are there. The electric top works well and is without rips or holes, it just needs a good cleaning. I removed the trim and the top latches from atop the windshield to have them restored so the top will not latch until they are put back on and/or replaced. We never used it with the top up so I never got around to it. The tires are all good with plenty of tread and it has a spare and jack. This car has great potential and has been a lot of fun. It is a head turner and a conversation piece wherever we go. I tried to include everything in the description, but please ask questions as I want you to be fully informed prior to bidding. It is sold as is with no expressed or implied guarantee/warrantee. I have a clear Nevada title and it has been registered and insured since 2007, as we still drive it on Sundays. I will assist with getting it to a local Las Vegas, NV shipping company, but I will not assist with shipping arrangements or shipping cost. I reserve the right to end this auction early. Thank you for your interest, happy bidding.
