The Legacy: The 108 and 109 Chassis Mercedes Benz vehicles are the last truly hand-built S-Class Mercedes vehicles .The 108 and 109 vehicles were also the last vehicles with the infamous "Mercedes look" - stacked headlamps , curvy hoodlines, and a very large front grille.This Mercedes-Benz W108 is equipped with a 4.5L SOHC cast-iron block m117 V8. The engine and drivetrain are smooth and responsive at any speed. On the highway this autobahn cruiser keeps you confident and comfortable. The leather interior is a 10 out of 10. Wood is in excellant shape as well as door trim and carpets. Tires are excellant and the white walls are period correct. Headliner is near perfect as well as all the glass and crome. No pitting or fading anywhere. The windows operate as they should. The exterior is absolutely stunning from any angle near or far. The paint is high gloss duPont Mercedes factory correct 423H Tobacco Brown with a mocha interior. Paint was completed by a factory specialist a year ago and front and rear window seals were replaced at that time for a total cost of over $3500. Also within the year all 4 calipers have been rebuilt and new rear pads installed which provide excellant stopping power of this heavy Stuttgart tank. Factory installed air conditioning was rebuilt in Sept 2011 as well as the radiator. $20000 worth of service receipts dating decades back show this to be a Texas car its entire life. This is the first season in a northen climate and we tucked it away into a climate controlled garage the first day and that is were it will rest until now!!!!! This vehicle needs next to nothing to make it a show winner. A nice Becker Mexico radio is in order and can be located on Ebay for around $300. The engine and drivetrain are smooth and responsive at any speed. On the highway this autobahn cruiser keeps you confident and comfortable. The leather interior is a 10 out of 10. Wood is in excellant shape as well as door trim and carpets. Tires are excellant and the white walls are period correct. Headliner is near perfect as well as all the glass and crome. No pitting or fading anywhere. The windows operate as they should. The exterior is absolutely stunning from any angle near or far. The paint is high gloss duPont Mercedes factory correct 423H Tobacco Brown with a mocha interior. Paint was completed by a factory specialist a year ago and front and rear window seals were replaced at that time for a total cost of over $3500. Also within the year all 4 calipers have been rebuilt and new rear pads installed which provide excellant stopping power of this heavy Stuttgart tank. Factory installed air conditioning was rebuilt in Sept 2011 as well as the radiator. $20000 worth of service receipts dating decades back show this to be a Texas car its entire life. This is the first season in a northen climate and we tucked it away into a climate controlled garage the first day and that is were it will rest until now!!!!!
