Vehicle Detail

I bought this Mustang 27 years ago this month. I used it as my daily driver until last year when I bought new car--a 2000 Outback. It has 250,000 miles on it. Very little of the car has bee around for the whole quarter of a million though. The engine was rebuilt around 180,000 miles, around 10 years ago. I used to think I would never get rid of it, but the rust and gas mileage finally got to me. You can see some of the rust in the trunk pictures. When the car is filled with gas, the gasoline odor gets into the passenger compartment. The floor rusted away for the second time about 5 years ago. Professionals wouldn't go near it. A friend of my brother in law knows how to weld and put a new floor in. He put it on top of the old floor thus raising it an inch or so. Everything went in pretty well except the kick panels which had to be cut and trimmed to fit them in to the heightened floor. It also affects the height of the driver that will fit. I'm 5'7 and barely fit into the car. As you can see it looks pretty good from 10 feet away. The original color was nightmist blue. When I got the car I had a tan vinyl top installed. A few years later Detriot was producing the same color scheme having discovered from me that tan looks good with anything so the car's historical in that sense. I always liked the palamino interior of the 65s more that the parchment of the 66s so I started converting the interior to palamino. When I got partway through I had an interior that was part blue 66 and part 65 palamino. I decided it looked good so I left it. Years later I had the car painted emberglo and I converted the interior to a combination palamino and red. The car still runs. When the Outback was in the shop recently. I used it to get to work and about. It originally had AC, but it quit working and I removed the compressor but left the interior console for looks. The car is good for parts or maybe restoration with a lot of welding. If you're local come by and check it out. Otherwise email questions or call 901 five 2 two-943 eight---nights are besta
