1972 Mercedes 450SL barn find with 117,000 actual miles. Just removed from multi-year storage, we installed a new battery and it fired right up. Engine doesn't smoke, transmission shifts smoothly and brakes work fine. Most lights and turn signals work. AC can't be checked as blower inoperative but figure it doesn't work. I'll try to list good things as we see them exterior paint very good, most all chrome and lights very good, seats very nice, instruments and speedo working, new rear muffler and replaced calipers and brake hoses. Now for the bad as observed, steering coupling needs bushings, shift linkage needs bushings, heater AC blower not operating, dash cracked, mouse chewed hole in the soft top, some rust underneath and in trunk floor. The only history we have is many years of receipts in Florida in the 1990s for over $10,000. Should make a good restoration project or do a little and drive it as is.
