RELISTING DUE TO NON PAYMENT FROM "buyer". If you have no intention of paying for this truck please don't bid. Please make arrangements to come pick it up or have the truck shipped. LOWER RESERVE! 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab. First off, I'll tell about the good things. 360 gas motor with appox 200K miles. Motor runs great. Never had any problems with it. Rear end is less than 2 years old. Transfer case is less than 5 years old. Tranny is less than 4 years old. New radiator, new heater core, new front drive shaft, new front left rotor. The body is in pretty darn good shape. No major dents or rust. Power locks, windows seats all work. Pioneer CD player works great. Sport king 285/75R16 AT tires in about 50-60% condition. 4" lift. This pickup was my hunting pickup for 6 years. It goes wherever you want it to go. Heater works great. Air conditioner works but will need recharged, as I had to drain it when I put the new heater core in last fall. Both radiator hoses are less than a year old. Rubber bed mat. 2" ball on a receiver hitch. Brand new bumper (not installed). Clear title. Now for the bad... About a month ago I lost reverse. For whatever reason it has no reverse capabilities. I was hoping it was just an adjustment or something so I took it back to the place where I had the tranny done back in 2008. He said it's an internal problem and would require removing the transmission and repairing it, and if you're going to do that he recommended replacing everything anyways. That's the major issue. You can drive it home, just don't park anywhere that you'll need to back out of! Forward gears work fine. The mechanic said there is nothing wrong with the transmission other than the reverse. It would make a great core tranny. It needs new rear shocks. It could use new brakes. There's a 4X4 vacuum line that's broken but the 4 wheel drive does work. The indicator light just doesn't come on. There's an electric connector that's on the transmission that is broken that comes apart if you drive through thick brush, corn stalks, etc. That plug is the sensor that tells your transmission when to shift. It's about a $20 part. If you're highway driving, it's not an issue. I hit a deer back in October, so the bumper that's on it is damaged pretty badly. I bought a new bumper that will go with the truck. I just haven' t put it on yet. Cruise and horn don't work. The pickup is dirty! I live on a farm and with the melting snow it's been pretty messy around here. This is still a great truck. I don't have the time or mechanical abilities to fix everything. You can use it for parts or restore it. The quote I got from the mechanic to fix everything that's wrong with it was around $2500 and he said that might be a little high. I spoke with some salvage yards and they quoted a used tranny around $800-$1000. But like I said, I'm not a mechanic, nor do I have the time to mess with it. I've pondered what to do with it, and I realize the shape it's in and I feel my best option is to let somebody else have it. If you choose to part it out and re-sell it, you'd make your money back 3-4 times what you'll pay for it. I will not ship the truck. If you line up a shipping company to come pick it up, that's fine. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere in the country. Deposit of $500.00 is due via paypal within 48 hours of auction ending. No exceptions. Final payment must be made within 7 days of auction end via cashier's check or cash in hand. I also have this truck listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Reserve is set fairly low. I would consider ending the auction early if the right offer is made. My loss is your gain. This has been the best pickup I've ever owned. Goes anywhere, runs great, just hate to see it go. All sales are final. No exceptions. Bid with confidence. 100% positive feedback and long time Ebay buyer and seller. Thanks and good luck!!
