Vehicle Detail

Wagon Master by International Harvester, the forerunner for all the shortbox 4 door pickups we see today. Her name is EDITH ANN. These vehicles were made briefly in 1973 and 1974.They were derived from the Travelall wagon and designed to pull a fifth wheel camper. I'm told that they only manufactured about 1,200 so there are not many left in operation. This vehicle is original #4401 Sunrise Yellow in color. EDITH ANN is quite a solid specimen and would make a great project for the "Binder" lover. It is four wheel drive New Process single lever with Warn Hubs, four speed standard transmission, 392 ci V8 engine, and Spicer 3.73 rear axle. The truck was sold new in Denver and spent it's early life on a ranch in Eastern Colorado. Consequently, it has a few ranch dings at the rear corners and on the roof. The odometer shows 72,500 miles and I believe that to be correct. The clear Colorado Certificate of Title shows 0 miles, however. There is the typical IH rust at the rear wheel openings, lower quarters, and the hood hinge area. Except for a few dents and a small rust hole at the left rear door sill, the rockers, floor and body panels are solid. The windshield has hairline cracks. The side and rear windows and operators are all good. The dashboard was damaged at the radio area by thieves. Front seat needs a redo but the rear seat is quite good. I have owned the truck since 1980 and used it very little. It has been more of a conversation piece at our mountain home than a form of transportation. The truck starts and runs even though it has sat idle for months at a time. Engine runs a little rough but does not smoke. A tuneup and fresh fuel would help, I'm sure. There are a few oil leaks on and around the engine due to age and inactivity, however, so a long drive would require attention to oil supply.
